Lesson Activities

  1. Fire Truck Water Play: Create a mini fire station in your backyard or a safe outdoor area. Use a garden hose to pretend it’s the fire truck’s hose. Set up small targets like plastic cups or toys that represent “fires” and let the children spray water to “put out” the fires. Discuss how the fire truck helps in real life and why it’s important to have them in our community.

  2. Helicopter Rescue Craft: Provide materials like paper plates, string, and markers to create a simple helicopter model. Encourage the children to decorate their helicopters and attach a small cup or basket underneath to represent the water tank. Discuss how helicopters help in emergencies and ask the children to think of other situations where helicopters might be useful.

  3. Garbage Truck Clean-Up Game: Organize a small clean-up activity in the classroom or playground. Give each child a small bag and ask them to collect litter (or safe, pretend litter) around the area. After the clean-up, talk about the importance of garbage trucks and keeping our environment clean. Ask the children how they can help keep their surroundings tidy every day.
