My Body is Special

My body can do so many things! It has wrists that help my hands move and ankles that help my feet move. I have elbows that help my arms bend and knees that help my legs bend. My body is special and can do lots of fun things!

More About My Body

My body has hips and shoulders that help me twist and turn. I have ten fingers and ten toes that help me grab and balance. I also have two hands and two feet that help me play and run. My body is truly special!

Let’s Celebrate Our Bodies!

Fingers, toes, hands, and feet—my body is special to me! It can do so many wonderful things like jumping, dancing, and hugging. Let’s take care of our bodies and celebrate how amazing they are!

  1. Body Part Discovery Walk: Take a walk around your home or classroom and find objects that you can use with different parts of your body. For example, use your hands to pick up a toy, your feet to kick a ball, or your eyes to spot something colorful. Share what you found and how you used your body to interact with it.

  2. Mirror Movements: Stand in front of a mirror and try making different movements with your body. Can you wiggle your fingers, bend your knees, or twist your hips? Try making funny faces and notice how your mouth, eyes, and nose move. Talk about what you see and how each part of your body helps you make these movements.

  3. Body Part Art: Use crayons, markers, or paint to draw a picture of yourself. Include as many body parts as you can remember from the lesson. Label each part and talk about what special things each one can do. Display your artwork and celebrate how amazing your body is!
