In this lesson, we follow the adventures of Benny the bunny, who loves to hop around and explore his surroundings. The story teaches us the importance of balancing activity with rest, highlighting that while it’s fun to be active, taking time to sleep is essential for recharging and preparing for new adventures.
  1. What did Benny like to do when he was awake?
  2. Why is it important for Benny to take a nap?
  3. Can you tell me about a time you played and then needed to rest?

Let’s Learn with a Fun Story!

Hello, little friend! Are you ready to hear a fun story? Let’s get started!

Quick, Quick, Quick!

Once upon a time, there was a little bunny named Benny. Benny loved to hop around quickly. He would say, “Quick, quick, quick!” as he hopped through the meadow. Benny was always in a hurry because he loved to explore and see new things.

Time for Sleep

After a long day of hopping and playing, Benny felt very tired. It was time for him to rest. Benny found a cozy spot under a big tree and snuggled up. He closed his eyes and whispered, “Thank you,” to the beautiful day he had. Then, he fell fast asleep, dreaming of more adventures.

What Did We Learn?

From Benny’s story, we learn that it’s fun to be active and explore, but it’s also important to rest and sleep. Sleeping helps us feel strong and ready for another day of fun!

Let’s Talk!

Can you think of a time when you were very active and then needed a nap? What fun things did you do? Remember, just like Benny, it’s okay to rest when you’re tired!

Thank you for listening to the story. Have a wonderful day full of fun and rest!

  1. Can you think of a time when you were exploring or playing outside? What did you discover or see that was new and exciting?
  2. Why do you think Benny the bunny was in such a hurry to explore? Have you ever felt excited to see or try something new? What was it?
  3. How do you feel after a busy day of playing and having fun? What are some of your favorite ways to relax and rest, just like Benny under the big tree?
  • Bunny Hop Race: Let’s pretend to be Benny the Bunny! Find a safe space where you can hop around. Set a timer for one minute and see how many times you can hop like Benny. After the timer goes off, sit down and take deep breaths. How do you feel after hopping? Talk about why it’s important to rest after being active.

  • Dream Drawing: Just like Benny dreams of new adventures, let’s draw a picture of what you dream about when you sleep. Use crayons or markers to create your dream world. Share your drawing with a friend or family member and explain your dream adventure. Discuss why dreaming is a fun part of sleeping.

  • Rest and Recharge: Find a cozy spot in your home, just like Benny did under the tree. Close your eyes and imagine you’re in a peaceful place. Think about what you hear, see, and feel in this place. After a few minutes, open your eyes and share what you imagined. Why do you think resting helps us feel better?
