O is also for orange. Oranges are yummy fruits that are round and juicy. Do you like oranges?
Let’s sing a fun song about the letter O:
“Big O, small o, hooray for O! The octopus eats an orange. O, O, O! Big O, small o, hooray for O! The octopus eats an orange. Oh, oh.”

As you create, count the arms together to make sure there are eight. Can you think of other things that have the letter O in them while you work?
Orange Tasting Adventure: Bring in different types of oranges, like navel oranges, mandarins, or blood oranges. Let the children taste each one and describe the flavors. Ask them to notice the shape and color. Can they think of other fruits or foods that start with the letter O?
O Word Hunt: Go on a word hunt around the classroom or at home. Look for objects that start with the letter O, like an oven, an onion, or an owl toy. Make a list of all the O words you find. How many can you discover?
