Today is a special day! We are going to make our brains and bodies strong. Are you ready? Let’s do it together!
Let’s start by walking in place. As we walk, let’s say:
“I will be helpful, I will be kind. I will do my best, all the time!”
Now, let’s criss-cross our arms like a big hug. While we do this, let’s say:
“I will listen and learn, sing and move. I will be so proud of all I do!”
Let’s twist our bodies like a fun dance. As we twist, let’s say:
“I will show respect to everyone. I will work and play, and have fun!”
Remember, today we are making our brains and bodies strong. We will look and listen, and be good friends. We will do the best that we can do!
Let’s do some leg squats. As we squat, let’s say:
“I will be helpful, I will be kind. I will do my best, all the time!”
Let’s roll our arms like a roly poly. While we roll, let’s say:
“I will listen and learn, sing and move. I will be so proud of all I do!”
Let’s criss-cross our legs this time. As we do this, let’s say:
“I will show respect to everyone. I will work and play, and have fun!”
Today is a great day to learn and grow. Let’s look, listen, and be the best friends we can be. Let’s make this day amazing!
Kindness Hunt: Go on a kindness hunt around your home or classroom. Look for ways you can be helpful and kind to others. Can you find three things you can do to help someone today? Maybe you can help a friend pick up toys, share your crayons, or give a big smile to someone who looks sad. After you find these acts of kindness, share them with your friends or family.
Respectful Role Play: With a friend or family member, act out different situations where you can show respect. For example, pretend you are at the playground and someone wants to join your game. How can you show respect and include them? Or pretend you are in class and someone is speaking. How can you show respect by listening? Talk about how it feels to be respectful and how it makes others feel.
Movement and Words: Create your own movement and words activity. Think of a positive action or feeling, like “helpful” or “proud,” and make up a movement to go with it. For example, you might jump up and down while saying, “I am helpful!” Share your new movement and words with your friends or family and see if they can join in.
