Let’s see: sunny, nighttime, dark, daylight, small, big, cup… That did not make sense. Let me just go read that opposite book. That book made me smile; it did not make me frown. Smile and frown are opposites!

See, we’re learning already! Opposites in the park! Say hello to all the dogs, and they’ll greet you with a bark!

[Music]

Let’s look for opposites everywhere around the big dog park! The shaggy dog is in the tube, happy as can be. The quick white dog is out and ready to run free. The yellow dog gets wet while playing with her ball; the little dog is dry as he sits so very tall. There’s a big spotted dog with her small baby pup. The black dog runs down, and the fluffy dog climbs up. Some dogs like to walk, and some dogs like to run. Finding opposites in the park is always lots of fun!

[Music]

It’s food for thought! Let’s all learn the opposites; it’s tasty and it’s fun! With picnic friends and food for thought, we’ll learn them one by one: fork, spoon, cake, napkin, hamburger, plate. Be there or be square! Most plates are round, you know!

[Applause]

Cold, hot dog, deviled egg, watermelon, corn on the cob, guacamole, tortilla chip, ice pop, fried chicken, lemonade. Have some fun in the summer sun! We’re too cool for that!

Big, small, cheeseburger, sesame seeds, basil, fruit salad, blueberries, kiwi, pizza, apples, oranges. We’re a big deal, but a little goes a long way! Picnic basket, but think outside the box: peach, grapes, dessert, baguette, cheese, empty, full, strawberry jam, pickles, smoothie, punch, ketchup, mustard. Looking good over there!

That’s an empty condiment: sweet, sour, strawberry, cherry, cantaloupe, pies, lemon, lime, hot dog with sauerkraut, grapefruit. Did you know that flavors affect different parts?

Phew! Potato chips, dip, popcorn. Let’s go for a dip!

Tall, short, sandwich, ice cream cone. Don’t you laugh at being short!

The end!

You and me, we’re opposites! I come, you go. I’m nice, you’re grouchy. I’m up, you’re down. I’m big, you’re little. Oh, I’m in, you’re out. You’re off, I sit, you stand. You’re slow, I’m fast. I’m tall, you’re short. Oh, I have a lot, you have none. I’m dry, you’re wet. You’re dirty, I’m clean. I’m black, you’re white. Hmm… I’m awake, they’re asleep!

[Applause]

Hmm… Hairy Bear and friends: opposites! Me, Hairy Bear. Hmm… Harry is big, Yuki is little. Snow and Yuki are near; now they are far. Maya, Bird, and Joe’s Squirrel are up; Mel and Yuki are down. Joe, Maya, Beauty, and Mo are in front; Emily Rabbit is in back. Hmm… Harry is…
