Imagine you’re a bus driver. You have a big, colorful bus, and it’s your job to take people where they need to go. You open the doors to let people in and close them when it’s time to drive. You stop at special places called bus stops to pick up and drop off passengers. Isn’t that exciting?
Can you pretend to drive a bus? Hold your hands out like you’re holding a big steering wheel. Turn it left and right as you drive down the road. Beep beep! Don’t forget to stop at the bus stops!
Now that we’ve all become amazing bus drivers, it’s time to celebrate! Let’s give ourselves shiny medals for doing such a great job. You can pretend to pin a medal on your shirt. Yay for us!
Driving a bus is just one of the many fun things we can pretend to do. What else would you like to pretend to be? Maybe a firefighter or a chef? Use your imagination and have fun!

Bus Stop Scavenger Hunt: Go on a mini adventure around your home or classroom. Create small “bus stops” using chairs or boxes. At each stop, place a picture or toy representing a different place (like a park, zoo, or school). Pretend to drive your bus to each stop and pick up or drop off passengers (stuffed animals or toys). Discuss what happens at each place and why it’s important to stop there.
Design Your Own Bus: Use paper, crayons, and stickers to design your own colorful bus. Think about what colors and patterns you want on your bus. Once your bus is ready, share it with your friends or family and explain why you chose those designs. Where will your bus go? Who will ride on it?
Question Time: Ask yourself, “What other vehicles can take people places?” Think about cars, trains, airplanes, and boats. How are they similar to or different from a bus? Discuss with a friend or family member which vehicle you would like to drive and why.
