Parts of the Head – The Human Body for Kids

Welcome to a fun journey about the parts of your head! Let’s learn about what makes your head so special and important.

Meet Your Eyes

Your eyes help you see the world around you. They are like little cameras that let you look at everything! Your eyelids are like curtains that open and close to protect your eyes. Eyelashes are tiny hairs that keep dust and dirt away from your eyes. Above your eyes are your eyebrows, which are like little rainbows made of hair.

Say Hello to Your Nose

Your nose is amazing because it helps you smell all sorts of things, like flowers or yummy food. It’s right in the middle of your face and helps you breathe, too!

Explore Your Mouth

Inside your mouth, you have a tongue, teeth, and lips. Your tongue helps you taste delicious foods like ice cream and pizza. Your teeth are like little tools that help you chew your food. You have 32 teeth when you grow up! Your lips are the soft part around your mouth that help you talk and smile.

Listen with Your Ears

Your ears are on the sides of your head, and they help you hear sounds like music, laughter, and birds singing. Listening is another important sense that helps you enjoy the world.

Protect Your Head with Hair

Your hair is like a cozy hat that keeps your head warm. It can be long or short, curly or straight, and it makes you look unique!

Isn’t it amazing how many cool things are on your head? Remember to take care of your body by eating healthy foods and playing outside. Keep learning and having fun!

  • What is your favorite thing to see with your eyes, and why do you like looking at it?
  • Can you think of a time when you smelled something really nice or really yucky? What was it, and how did it make you feel?
  • What sounds do you like to listen to with your ears, and how do they make you feel?
  1. Eye Spy Adventure: Go on a mini adventure around your home or classroom. Use your eyes to find objects that are red, blue, or green. Can you spot something that is round or square? Share what you find with a friend and talk about how your eyes help you see all these different things!

  2. Smell and Tell: Ask an adult to help you gather a few items with different smells, like an orange, a flower, or a piece of chocolate. Close your eyes and use your nose to guess what each item is. Talk about how your nose helps you enjoy different scents and how it helps you breathe.

  3. Sound Safari: Sit quietly for a few minutes and listen to the sounds around you. Can you hear birds, cars, or people talking? Draw a picture of what you hear and share it with your class. Discuss how your ears help you enjoy the world by listening to different sounds.

The human body is made up of different parts: the head, the trunk, and the upper and lower limbs. It is important to care for the human body by eating well and exercising to stay healthy.

Today, we’ll talk about the parts of the head. Your eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and hair are on your head. You can see with your eyes; your sense of vision is found in your eyes. They are protected by your eyelids, eyelashes, and eyebrows. Your eyelids are muscles that allow you to open and close your eyes. Eyelashes are small hairs that protect your eyes from dust and dirt. Eyebrows are above your eyes; they are a group of small hairs that form a curve.

You can smell with your nose; your sense of smell is found in your nose. Your tongue, teeth, and lips are in your mouth. You can taste food with your tongue; your sense of taste is found in your tongue. You have 32 teeth, which you can use to crush food.

Your lips surround your mouth. Your hair protects your head so that it doesn’t get too cold. Your ears are on both sides of your head; you can hear things with them, and this is another one of our senses.
