Learning About Sharing

Sharing makes playtime more fun for everyone. When we share, we can have more adventures and make new friends!

  • Why do you think Grumpy Toad didn’t want to share his toys at first? Can you think of a time when you didn’t want to share something? How did you feel?
  • How did Pete the Kitty feel when Grumpy Toad didn’t share? What do you think changed Grumpy Toad’s mind about sharing?
  • What are some things you like to share with your friends or family? How does it make you feel when you share and play together?
  1. Sharing Circle: Gather in a circle with your classmates. Each child brings a small toy or item from home. Take turns sharing your toy with the person next to you. Talk about how it feels to share and how it feels when someone shares with you. What new games or stories can you create together using the shared toys?

  2. Build a Community: Using building blocks, work together in small groups to create a community. Each child can contribute by building a house, a school, or a park. Discuss how sharing blocks helps you build something bigger and better. What happens when everyone shares their ideas and materials?

  3. Superhero Sharing Adventure: Imagine you are superheroes like Wonder Toad and Super Kitty. Create a superhero story where you need to share your superhero tools to save the day. Draw pictures of your adventure and share your story with the class. How did sharing help you succeed in your mission?
