Welcome to Story Time!

Hello everyone! I’m so happy you’re here with us today. Let’s have some fun with a story! We are going to read a book called “Pete with No Pants” by Robo Watkins. It’s a funny and cute story, so let’s see what happens!

Pete Thinks He’s a Boulder

One morning, after breakfast, Pete had a silly idea. He thought he was a big, gray boulder. “I’m big, I’m gray, and I’m not wearing pants. I must be a boulder! Yay! Boulders are the best!” he said.

*Knock knock.*

Someone asked, “Who’s there?”

*Knock knock.*

“Who’s there?”

“Boo boo.”

“Oh, boulders are the worst!” Pete thought.

Pete Tries Something New

Then Pete had another idea. “I’m gray, I’m not about acorns, and I’m not wearing pants. I must be a squirrel!” he said.

Someone asked, “Is that a boulder?”

“Well, it’s big and gray and it’s not wearing pants.”

“Yep, that’s a boulder!”

*Knock knock.*

“Who’s there?”

“A hungry talking boulder!”

“Hey, look! Petrified!”

Playing Hide and Seek

“Yay! Hide and seek is the best! Ready or not, here I come!” Pete shouted.

“Peek-a-boo! Put your pants on please, Mom! Boulders wear pants!”

“But I was a squirrel!” Pete said.

“Well, you look like a naked pigeon and it’s time for dinner. Have you ever gone out without pants?” asked Mom.

After dinner, Pete was all clean and ready for bed. “Night night, nudie bird!”

The Next Day

The next morning was cloudy. Pete thought, “I’m gray and puffy, and clouds never wear pants.”

“Nope! Um, there goes that boulder with pants again. Why is it chasing a flying pebble?”

“I think it’s a pigeon!”

“Giant pigeons don’t wear pants!”

“Peek-a-boo! I see you!”

“Who’s there?”

“Where are you?”

“Wow, birds are the worst!”

“Is that a cloud?”

“Well, it’s gray and rainy and not wearing pants.”

“Yep, that’s a cloud! Who knew clouds could walk?”

*Knock knock.*

“Who’s there?”

“It’s me!”
