Hello friends! It’s me, Pinkalicious. Do you know what one of my favorite treats is? Pink cupcakes! They are so yummy, and when I eat a lot of them, I turn a lovely shade of pink. But if I eat too many, I start turning red, and I don’t want to be red!
When that happens, I have to eat green food to turn back to my normal self. One of the green foods I eat is peas, and today, I want to share a fun nursery rhyme about them with you. It’s called “Peas Porridge Hot.”
Here is how the rhyme goes:
Isn’t that a silly rhyme? I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want to try porridge that’s nine days old! Yuck!
Eating green foods like peas is not only fun but also good for you! They help keep you healthy and strong. You can try peas in different ways, like in a salad, soup, or even mashed up. What green foods do you like to eat?
Thanks for joining me today! Remember, eating a rainbow of foods can be delicious and fun. See you next time!
Green Food Taste Test: Gather a variety of green foods such as peas, broccoli, cucumbers, and green apples. Have a taste test session where you try each food and describe its taste, texture, and smell. Which one is your favorite? Can you think of other green foods you might like to try?
Color Mixing Experiment: Use watercolors or food coloring to explore how colors mix. Start with red and white to make pink, just like Pinkalicious! Then, mix blue and yellow to make green. Discuss how eating green foods helps Pinkalicious return to her normal color. Can you create other colors by mixing different paints?
Grow Your Own Peas: Plant pea seeds in a small pot or garden space. Water them regularly and watch them grow. Keep a journal with drawings of your plant’s growth. How long does it take for the peas to sprout? What do you notice about the plant as it grows?

Hello friends! It’s me, Pinkalicious. Do you know what one of my favorite treats is? Pink cupcakes! When I eat a lot of them, I turn this beautiful shade of pink. The trouble is, I can’t seem to stop eating them until I turn red. I don’t want to be red! When that happens, I have to eat green food until I turn back to my normal self.
So today, I’m going to teach you a nursery rhyme about one of the green foods I eat. It’s called “Peas Porridge Hot,” and it goes like this:
Peas porridge hot,
Peas porridge cold,
Peas porridge in the pot,
Nine days old.
Some like it hot,
Some like it cold,
And some like it in the pot,
Nine days old.
I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want to try the nine-day porridge! Thanks for watching!
