Hello, friends! I’m Ryan, and I’m Crito. We’re so happy you’re here for Story Time! Today, we have a special story to share with you. Let’s get started!
Today, we’re reading a fun book called “Paddington’s Prized Pizza” by Michael Bond. It’s all about a bear named Paddington who loves to explore and have adventures!
One sunny morning, Paddington went to the market to buy some yummy oranges. Everyone at the market knew Paddington because he was always so polite and friendly. They saved their best fruit just for him!
After shopping, Paddington visited his friend Mr. Gruber. Mr. Gruber’s shop was full of old treasures. Paddington saw a picture of a boat and a hat. Mr. Gruber said, “Just you wait, there’s more to come!” Paddington was curious and excited!
Paddington had a big idea! He rushed home to see if there was a hidden picture under Mr. Brown’s painting. He cleaned the painting, but oh no! He made it look like a stormy sea instead!
Paddington wanted to fix it, so he found some paint and brushes. He tried to paint boats and a lake, but it didn’t turn out as he hoped. Paddington ended up with orange spots all over him!
The next day, Paddington’s spots were gone, and everyone was happy. Mr. Brown told everyone about a painting contest. He loved painting but had never won a prize before.
At the art show, the judges looked at all the paintings. When they announced the winner, it was Mr. Brown! But he was surprised and said, “This is not my painting!”
Guess what? Paddington’s painting had won first prize! Mr. Brown’s name was on the back, so he accepted the prize. He decided to give it to a special home for retired bears in Peru. Paddington was so happy, thinking of his Aunt Lucy!
Thank you for joining Story Time with Ryan and Crito! We hope you loved the story. If you want to hear more stories, remember to come back and see us again. Have a wonderful day!
Market Adventure: Just like Paddington, let’s go on a pretend market adventure! Set up a small market at home or in the classroom with different fruits and vegetables. Encourage the children to role-play as Paddington, choosing their favorite fruits and being polite to the vendors. Ask them to think about why being polite and friendly is important. Discuss how they feel when someone is kind to them.
Art Exploration: Provide the children with paper, paint, and brushes to create their own paintings. Encourage them to paint something they love or an adventure they imagine. Once they finish, have a mini art show where each child can present their painting. Ask them to share what their painting represents and how it makes them feel. Discuss how art can be a way to express feelings and tell stories, just like Paddington’s painting did.
Storytelling with Objects: Gather a few everyday objects, like a hat, a toy boat, or a picture frame, similar to what Paddington found in Mr. Gruber’s shop. Ask the children to create a short story using these objects. Encourage them to use their imagination and think about what adventures these objects might have. Discuss how everyday things can inspire stories and adventures, just like Paddington’s curiosity led him to new discoveries.
Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:

Oh, Craig, I have a shout-out! I want to give a shout-out to Kim and Cadence from Moody, Alabama, for sending us this awesome book. Thanks, guys!
Today’s book is “Paddington’s Prized Pizza” by Michael Bond, illustrated by R.W. Alley. Let’s get started!
One morning, Mrs. Brown sent Paddington to the market to buy some oranges. Paddington was well known in the markets; the traders always saved their best fruit for him, and he always thanked them for it.
When he was done shopping, Paddington visited his friend Mr. Gruber. Mr. Gruber’s store was filled with old things, but he always had something new to show Paddington.
Paddington saw a picture of a boat, and on the other half, he saw what looked like a hat. Mr. Gruber said, “Just you wait, there’s more to come!”
Paddington had a great idea and hurried home as fast as he could. He wondered if Mr. Brown’s painting had another picture underneath it. Paddington began to clean the painting, but instead of revealing something beautiful, he accidentally created a stormy sea.
Determined to fix it, Paddington found some brushes and an old box of paints. He started to paint boats and a lake, but when he stepped back to look at his work, he realized there were no boats or lake at all.
That evening, Paddington was covered in orange spots. Mrs. Brown sent him to bed early, just in case. The next morning, everyone was happy to see that Paddington’s spots were gone.
Mr. Brown announced that he had entered a painting contest and invited everyone to the show. The art show began, and the judges looked at all the paintings. Mr. Brown loved painting but had never won a prize.
When the judges announced the winner, it was Mr. Brown! However, he looked confused and said, “This is not my painting; there must be some mistake.”
Paddington’s painting on Mr. Brown’s canvas won first prize! The judges showed Mr. Brown his name written on the back. Mr. Brown accepted his prize and decided to donate it to the home for retired bears in Peru. Paddington beamed, thinking of his Aunt Lucy, who would be pleased.
