Today’s Story: Rhyme Crime

Today, we have a fun story called “Rhyme Crime” by John Burgerman. Are you ready to hear it? Let’s begin!

The Silly Thief

Once upon a time, there was a sneaky thief who loved to play tricks. But this thief was a little different. Instead of just taking things, he replaced them with something that rhymed!

First, Hammy’s brand new hat was swapped for a cat. Meow! Then, Gum Pop’s lovely head turned into a slice of bread. Yum!

Arnie’s comfy chair became a big, furry bear. Roar! Koodles’ loyal dog was changed into a silly log. Oh no!

Gertie’s pretty house turned into a giant mouse. Squeak! Marlo’s happy smile became a snappy crocodile. Snap!

Tingle’s mighty sneeze was swapped for stinky cheese. Phew! Blue’s gummy cake was taken for a slithery snake. Hiss!

Sleepy Boomer’s brain was switched for a squishy sponge. How funny! The thief even took Tumble’s orange and swapped it with another sponge. Silly thief!

The End of the Tale?

Is this the end of our story? Well, the thief was caught and taken to jail. But guess what? By the very next day, the thief had run away! How did he do it? That’s a mystery!
