What to Do If You Get Lost

Hey there! Let’s learn what to do if you ever get lost. Imagine you’re at the store with your dad, and you can’t find him. What should you do?

First, stay calm. It’s important not to panic. Then, try to remember your mom or dad’s phone number. If you know it, you can tell a security guard or a friendly adult who can help you find them.

Remember, if you get lost, find a security guard. They are there to help you. And don’t forget to thank them when they help you find your parents!

Playing Safely on the Slide

Do you like playing on the slide? It’s so much fun! But we need to remember some rules to keep everyone safe.

When you want to go on the slide, make sure to line up with your friends. Take turns and wait patiently. Hold onto the handrail as you climb up the stairs. When it’s your turn, sit up straight and slide down slowly. This way, everyone can have a great time!

Swimming Fun

Swimming is a splashy good time! Before you jump into the pool, let’s get ready. Put on your swimming goggles and hold onto your inner tube.

Remember to stretch your arms and legs to warm up. When you get into the pool, hold the handrail and step down carefully. Always stay in the shallow end where it’s safe for you. Swimming is so much fun when we follow the rules!

Brushing Teeth Safely

Brushing your teeth is important to keep them clean and healthy. Let’s sing a song while we brush!

Hold your toothbrush and make bubbles with the toothpaste. Brush your teeth every day, and be careful not to run around while brushing. It’s important to stay safe!

Crossing the Street Safely

When you cross the street, always look at the traffic lights. Stop when the light is red and go when it’s green. Look left and right to make sure no cars are coming. This will help you stay safe!

Riding the Bus

Riding the bus can be an exciting adventure! When you’re on the bus, remember to sit nicely and give your seat to someone who needs it. The wheels on the bus go round and round, taking us to fun places!

Playing with Friends

Playing with friends is the best! If you want to play with a toy that someone else is using, ask nicely if you can have a turn. Sharing is caring, and it makes playtime more fun for everyone!

Now you’re ready to have fun and stay safe wherever you go. Remember these tips, and you’ll be a super smart and safe kid!

Lesson Activities

  1. Role-Playing Lost and Found: Gather a few friends or family members and play a game of “Lost and Found.” One person pretends to be lost in a safe space like the living room or backyard. The others play the roles of security guards or friendly adults. Practice staying calm, remembering phone numbers, and asking for help. After the game, discuss how it felt and what you learned about staying safe.

  2. Slide Safety Art Project: Create a colorful poster about slide safety rules. Use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to draw pictures of kids lining up, holding the handrail, and sliding down safely. Hang your poster in a place where you can see it every day to remind yourself and others about playing safely on the slide.

  3. Street Crossing Practice: Set up a pretend street in your home or yard using tape or chalk to mark the road and crosswalk. Use toy cars or ask family members to pretend to be cars. Practice stopping at the “red light,” looking left and right, and crossing safely when the “light” turns green. Talk about why it’s important to follow these steps every time you cross the street.
