Meet Sharkdog!

Have you ever heard of a creature that’s half shark and half dog? Well, that’s Sharkdog! He has big fins and big jaws, and he loves to play in the water and the park. Sharkdog is super strong and has amazing night vision. He doesn’t sleep or blink, and he’s always ready for an adventure. Most importantly, Sharkdog is a great friend with a big heart!

Halloween Fun!

It’s Halloween, and Sharkdog is super excited! Do you know why? Because it’s time for trick-or-treating! On Halloween, we dress up in fun costumes and go to people’s houses to get lots of candy. Yum! But we have to wait until the sun goes down to start trick-or-treating.

Spooky Stories

While waiting for the sun to set, Sharkdog and his friends decide to tell a spooky story. It’s called “The Legend of the Fearsome Fog.” A long time ago, in a town called Fishy Springs, strange things started happening on Halloween. Candy and pumpkins went missing, and everyone was worried!

Sharkdog to the Rescue!

Sharkdog and his friends are determined to find out who is taking all the Halloween goodies. They follow clues and discover something surprising—a robot tentacle is behind all the mischief! It’s not a real monster, but a machine trying to trick everyone.

Saving Halloween

With Sharkdog’s help, the friends solve the mystery and prove that Sharkdog is innocent. Now they can enjoy Halloween and go trick-or-treating! Everyone is happy, and the town can celebrate with lots of candy and fun decorations.

Let’s Celebrate!

Thanks to Sharkdog and his friends, Halloween is saved! They show us that working together and being brave can solve any problem. Now, it’s time to dress up, have fun, and enjoy the spooky night with friends and family. Happy Halloween!

  • What kind of costume would you like to wear if you could join Sharkdog on his Halloween adventure? Why did you choose that costume?
  • Have you ever solved a mystery or a problem with your friends or family? What happened, and how did you feel afterward?
  • Sharkdog is a mix of a shark and a dog. Can you imagine another fun animal combination? What would it look like, and what special abilities would it have?
  1. Sharkdog Costume Creation: Gather some craft supplies like paper, markers, glue, and scissors. Encourage the children to create their own Sharkdog costume or mask. Ask them to think about what features make Sharkdog special, like his fins or big jaws, and incorporate those into their designs. Once finished, have a mini costume parade where each child can show off their creation and explain what makes their Sharkdog unique.

  2. Spooky Story Time: In small groups, let the children come up with their own spooky story inspired by “The Legend of the Fearsome Fog.” Provide them with prompts like “What happens when Sharkdog visits a haunted house?” or “How does Sharkdog help his friends when they get lost in a spooky forest?” Encourage them to use their imagination and share their stories with the class. This activity helps develop creativity and storytelling skills.

  3. Halloween Hunt: Organize a small scavenger hunt in the classroom or playground. Hide small items like paper pumpkins, candy wrappers, or toy robots. Give the children clues to find these items, similar to how Sharkdog and his friends followed clues to solve the mystery. This activity encourages teamwork and problem-solving, just like Sharkdog and his friends demonstrated.

Whoo!
[cheering, laughing]

– Are you excited, Sharkdog?
– It’s Halloween! The best night ever! Because…
– [all] We go trick-or-treating!
– Oh, yeah! Uh-huh!
– Hit it.
– Get funky now.
– Oh!
[laughter]
– Trick-or… treat? Allow me to explain.
– Trick-or-treating is a Halloween tradition—
– Let’s keep it simple. You dress up in costumes, go to people’s houses, and get lots and lots of candy.
– Candy! Candy, candy, candy, candy!
– Ha! Let’s go!
– [laughs]
– Sorry, bud. It’s not time yet.
– Huh? Trick-or-treating starts when the sun goes down.
– [whimpers] But I know what we can do while we wait.
– [gasps]
– Tell a scary story.
– [pants]
– Whoo!
– Yes!
– [laughs] Welcome!
– [all scream]
[chuckles] Ghouls and Goblins, to our terrifying tale,
– The Legend Of The Fearsome Fog.
– [giggles] Our story starts on Halloween, a long, long, long time ago. Back then, our town was called Fishy Springs.
– I think it’s ‘cause of all the herring.
– [children laughing] And in that town, lived a kid… who let’s say, kinda looked like me.
– [Royce] Ooh!
– And the kid had a best friend.
– [Ollie] And don’t forget his other best friend.
– [Max] Finally, the kid had a really great, super cool dog.
– [Sharkdog] Sharkdog?
– [Max] Of course. T-minus five hours till trick-or-treating.
– [Max] Who’s ready for candy?
– [sniffs] Candy! Candy, candy, candy!
– [Sharkdog pants]
– [screams]
– [Sharkdog grunts]
– [all gasp]
– Max, Royce, Olivia. Come claim your foul beast this instant!
– [munches, belches]
– Oh! Who’re you calling a foul beast, Delilah? Sharkdog didn’t mean to knock you over. Ain’t that right, bud?
– No. Sharkdog sorry.
– Oh! [Delilah groans] Ha! It’s quite all right. You can make it up to me by coming to my party tonight.
– [groans]
– [Ollie] No can do. We’ll be busy dressing in outrageous outfits and gobbling down sugary sweets!
– We’re going trick-or-treating.
– Yup! And nothing can stop us from our Halloween quest. Huzzah!
– Halloween…
– [sniffs, retches]
– [all] Let’s go!
– [all] Candy, here we come!
– [bells ringing]
– [Max] But something could stop them…
– [bird chirping]
– [humming]
– [spooky music]
– [laughing] Huh? Arrr.
– [gasps] Where’s Mr. Crackers?
– Mmm. Mm-mm.
– [yells] Huh? Where’s my candy?
– [screams]
– [grunts]
– [groans] My pumpkins!
– Whoa! What’s going on?
– We’re telling Sharkdog the story of the Fearsome Fog before we go trick-or-treating.
– Ooh, I’ve heard about that one. It’s really scary.
– [chuckles] I think that’s the point, Steve.
– How ‘bout I tell one that won’t give us nightmares. Especially me.
– No, we’re good.
– [kids grunts]
– It was Halloween afternoon… A very strong, very handsome dad was hanging decorations when…
– [Mr. Heubel laughing]
– Oh, yeah! Whoo-hoo!
– [laughs] [smooches] [grumbles] So that’s how you wanna play, huh? Well, I’m gonna have the best decorations in town.
– [Max] Dad. You’re interrupting our story.
– But, but… [sighs] Fine. Go ahead.
– Now, where were we?
– [panting]
– Oh, yeah! Things were going missing, and people were not happy.
– Arrr. We’re not happy!
– Yeah, my sweets were stolen!
– And my pumpkins were pillaged.
– Ooh. Well, as Mayor, I promise to get to the bottom of this. Right after we come up with a new town name. I mean, Fishy Springs? We can do better, people!
– Don’t worry, Mom. I know who did it. And he’s right over… there!
– Nah, dude!
– [Dennis] Uh… Over there!
– [people gasping]
– Uh-uh. Sharkdog no thief.
– [woman] Oh!
– [man] The horror!
– I don’t know who took everyone’s stuff, but I swear on my Choco-Malt Balls, Sharkdog didn’t do it.
– Yeah! He’s a good dog.
– Be that as it may, polling shows people like politicians who take action. Therefore, if the real thief isn’t revealed by sundown, you and your dog will be banned from trick-or-treating!
– [echoes] Banned from trick-or-treating.
– Banned from trick-or-treating.
– [all gasp]
– Whoops, the microphone was set to echo. But you’ll still be banned.
– Fine. We’ll prove Sharkdog’s innocent.
– But when we do, you’ll all look silly!
– [all gasp] I mean more silly.
– [sniffing] Sharkdog catch thief.
– If you can’t trick-or-treat, you can always come to my party! You’ll be there, right?
– Oh! Is that tonight?
– Actually, I have a thing…
– Ha? Humph.
– [Sharkdog sniffs] Come on, guys! I think Sharkdog’s onto something.
– Hmmm, maybe we’ll find out who’s really behind this.
– Sharkdog smell something.
– It wasn’t me.
– Oh, you mean a clue?
– [awkward chuckle]
– Come on.
– Are you sure this is logical? This place seems spookier than normal.

– What? No! I was gettin’ ready fer…
– Wait a minute! I’ll be askin’ the questions. Why’re you on my boat? Out wit it, lad. What ye be searchin’ fer?
– Uh…
– Sharkdog smelled clue. And I think it’s this really sticky, really gross slime.
– Shive-me-boxer-briefs! Can it be? After all these years? It’s returned.
– Uh, should we know what you’re talking about?
– Listen here, ya land lubbers. Once every few years, a strange fog rolls through our sleepy, little town. And with that fog comes a creature from the deepest depths of the ocean. The Kraken.
– Legend says its slimy tentacles grab whatever be in its path. Now it seems the Kraken be back.
– Okay, story time be over. If the legend be true, I must plot me revenge!
– And finish me lunch.
– [laughing]
– [slurping, coughing] Sharkdog not bad. Sharkdog get Kraken.
– If the Kraken is real, and that’s a big if—
– How are we supposed to find it?
– [growling in distance]
– [screaming in distance]
– Uhh, judging by that blood-curdling scream, I think it found us!
– [screaming in distance]
– [squeals] Whoa!
– [yelps]
– [Kraken growling] Uh…
– [people screaming]
– [bike bell rings] Sharkdog save town.
– All right, be on the lookout for…
– Those!
– Ah!
– [Kraken growling] Uh-oh! Here they come again!
– I knew I should’ve stretched today.
– [groans]
– [Max] Huzzah!
– [grunting] Hiya!
– [chuckles]
– [staff chimes]
– Huh?
– [Kraken growls]
– [screams]
– [crunches] Ha! Take that!
– [screams] Oh, no! The Kraken’s got me.
– [Mia coos]
– And there’s so much goo!
– [giggling]
– [panting]
– [chuckles] What next? The kid’s dog jumped into action.
– No! Sharkdog help Max!

– [Max grunts]
– [grunts] You saved me, bud. That was close.
– [pants]
– [barks, slurps]
– [pants] Whoa! Guys, check this out.
– [Royce] This isn’t a monster. It’s a robot.
– Whoever made this must be grabbing all the Halloween items and letting Sharkdog take the blame.
– [all] Dennis.
– [babbling] Mystery solved. Now trick-or-treat?
– [grunts]
– [Max gasps]
– [giggling] Sun still out. No trick-or-treat.
– But it’s starting to set. You know, my story’s not finished either.
– [laughs]
– [clears throat]
– Huh? The dad had some really cool new decorations.
– Ha! Let’s see Heubel beat this!
– [button beeps]
– [whirs]
– [decorations and Mr. Heubel laugh]
– [gasps]
– [groans] Upstaged again!
– [Mom] Steve? Steve. Steve!
– [soft chuckle] Got caught up in the moment.
– So, the kids learned the tentacle was actually a robot and went looking for their main suspect…
– Dennis, Dennis! Here, here, here!
– [howls]
– [machine whirs]
– Ha-ha!
– [sloshes] Game over, man.
– [Sharkdog growls] We know you built a robot tentacle to frame Sharkdog.
– I have no idea what you’re talking about.
– [growls] And you don’t have any proof!
– Huh? Oh, yeah? Then what do ya call this?
– Ah, wrong pocket. This!
– All we have to do is match the pieces to your Mecha-suit, and we’ll prove you’re the Halloween thief.
– You’ll have to catch me first!
– [grunts]
– [laughs] Sharkdog fetch!
– [chuckles]
– Yeah!
– [laughing]
– [growls]
– [Dennis grunts]
– Ha!
– [chuckles] Now to show everyone…
– [Max] The pieces don’t match?
– What? Dennis was telling the truth?
– Ha! I hate to say I told ya so, but… Actually, never mind! Told ya so! Told ya so!
– [laughs]
– [all gasp] Told ya so! Told ya so!
– [laughs] What’s the matter? Lobster got your tongue?
– [muffled grunt]
– [Dennis gasps]
– [screams]
– [growling]
– [Ollie] Hold up. If this is a scary story, the Kraken should be even bigger!
– Scientifically speaking, there’s never been a cephalopod the size of a skyscraper.
– [Max] No, no, no.
– That’s too little.
– Yeah. It’s more like… this.
– [growls]
– [whimpers] Sharkdog run away now.
– [all screaming]
– [screaming continues]
– [Kraken growls]
– [bowls clattering]
– [kids screaming]
– [people screaming]
– Oh, my goodness gracious!
– [screaming] Stop. Wait…
– [Max] The Kraken chased the kids through the forest and across the town.
– [Ollie] And even in outer space!
– [Max laughs]
– Ollie.
– I might’ve gone a little overboard.
– Now, the Kraken had the kids cornered.
– [Ollie gasping] Ah! We’re done for!
– [creaking, low grumbling]
– [gasps] Not yet, we’re not. Over here! Stinky fishy.
– [munches]
– [Royce grunts]
– [staff clanking]
– [grunting]
– [Kraken growls in distance]
– [spooky music]
– [growling]
– [sniffs]
– [squeals]
– [water splashes]
– [Sharkdog] Huh? A robotic tentacle and it doesn’t like the smell of fish?
– I have a feeling that’s not the real Kraken.
– Who cares? There’s a monster on the loose, and I have herring in my gearbox!
– [gags, yells] Mm-mm. Stinky fish taste good.
– [panting] Are you okay? What was that?
– That’s the thing taking everyone’s Halloween stuff.
– [all gasp]
– [Max] And now that you know the truth, we can go trick-or-treating!
– [all cheering]
– [Mayor Muckford] Yeah… No.
– What? Why not? We proved Sharkdog didn’t do it.
– Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was the deal.
– But you also proved there’s a dangerous sea monster loose in Stinky Springs.
– I’m sorry, but I have no choice. By the power vested in me, trick-or-treating is officially canceled… for everyone!
– [echoes] For everyone! For everyone!
– [For everyone!]
– [all gasp]
– [echoes] For everyone! For everyone!
– And the echo was on purpose this time.
– [all exclaim in disappointment]
– [girl sobbing softly]
– [Mayor Muckford] Sea Monster Springs. Is that a better name for the town?
– [unimpressed sigh]
– But Mom! Ugh. This is all your fault!
– Oh, no trick-or-treat? All I wanted was for us to have a great Halloween, but I blew it.
– [whimpers] Ugh. This can’t get any worse!
– [can clanking]
– [Max grunts]
– [sighs] Nevermind. It can.
– [whimpers]
– But, but the Kraken is still on the loose. How did the kids stop it and save Halloween?
– I’m terrified but totally invested!
– Well, the kid’s dad was in a heated decoration battle. And it just so happens he became very important.
– He did? Who has the best decorations?
– I have the best decorations.
– Oh yeah, victory dance time!
– [humming]
– [chuckles] Hey! What do you think of your old man’s decorations?
– Uh, looks great, Dad. But no one’s gonna see them.
– Uh… Trick-or-treating’s been canceled.
– Huh? Ugh! Why did that dumb fog have to show up and ruin everything?
– [Ollie] No idea.
– Huh?
– [in muffled voice] But at least it didn’t take this big bag of candy.
– Hey! Ah-ha!
– [Max] Follow me.
– [gasps]
– [munches] I think I have a plan.
– [Ollie and Royce] Huh?
– Huzzah!
– Yeah!
– Hmm. Huh? Tough break on the “no trick-or-treating,” huh? Guess we’ll never know who had the best decorations.
– Wait, were we competing?
– [chuckles] I didn’t even know. But hey, nice job.
– [gasps]
– [groans]
– [grunts, yelps]
– [decorations laughing]
– Huh?
– Oh!
– [decorations clatter]
– Uh, that can’t be good.
– I’m so glad the Kraken didn’t get this absurdly large bag of candy!
– [echoes] Candy, candy, candy, candy…
– Now the whole town can really celebrate Halloween!
– [bubbling]
– [eerie music]
– Oh, hey
