In today’s lesson, students engaged in a fun word game designed to enhance their vocabulary by matching pictures with the correct sight words. Through interactive sentences, such as identifying a “bear,” “bed,” and “ball,” learners practiced recognizing words in context, reinforcing their understanding while enjoying the activity. The lesson concluded with encouragement to continue practicing and a reminder to subscribe for more educational content.
  1. What is a bear doing in the picture?
  2. Where should you stay if you have a fever?

Welcome to Fun Learning!

Hello, friends! Today, we are going to have a lot of fun learning new words. Let’s play a game with pictures and words!

Let’s Start Our Word Game!

We have a special worksheet called “Learning Sight Words.” We will look at pictures and read sentences. Then, we will find the right word that matches the picture. Are you ready? Let’s go!

First Sentence: “I saw a…”

Look at the picture. What do you see? It’s a bear, and it’s dancing! So, the sentence is: “I saw a bear at the circus.”

Now, let’s find the word “bear” from these options: “baby,” “ball,” “bed,” and “bear.” Which one is right? Yes, it’s “bear”! Let’s circle it.

Second Sentence: “If you have a fever, it is best to stay in…”

Look at the picture. It’s a bed! Let’s find the word “bed.” The options are “boat,” “bed,” “bird,” and “baby.” Which one matches the picture? Yes, it’s “bed”! Let’s circle it.

The sentence is: “If you have a fever, it is best to stay in bed.” When you feel sick, resting in bed helps you feel better!

Third Sentence: “The player tries to hit the blank over the net.”

Look at the picture. It’s a ball! Let’s find the word “ball.” The options are “ball,” “bear,” “bird,” and “bed.” Which one is right? Yes, it’s “ball”! Let’s circle it.

The sentence is: “The player tries to hit the ball over the net.”

Great Job!

  • What other animals can you think of that might do something funny, like the bear dancing? Have you ever seen an animal do something funny?
  • When you feel sick, what are some things you like to do to feel better? Do you have a favorite toy or book that helps you rest?
  • Can you think of any games or sports where you use a ball? Which one is your favorite, and why do you like it?
  1. Word Hunt at Home: Go on a word hunt around your house! Look for objects that match the words you learned today: “bear,” “bed,” and “ball.” Can you find a teddy bear, your bed, or a ball? Ask a grown-up to help you write down the words you find. How many words can you discover in your home?

  2. Create Your Own Picture Book: Draw pictures of the words you learned today. For example, draw a bear dancing, a cozy bed, and a ball being hit over a net. Write a sentence for each picture using the words. Share your picture book with a friend or family member and read it together!

  3. Story Time Imagination: Imagine a story where all the words you learned today come to life. What if the bear from the circus visited your home? What would happen if the ball could talk? Share your story with someone and ask them what they think might happen next!

Today we have a new worksheet called “Learning Sight Words.” Our directions say to look at the pictures and read the sentence below, then circle the correct word that can replace the picture in each sentence.

Okay, let’s get started! We will begin from left to right.

The first sentence is: “I saw a…” What is this? It looks like a bear, doesn’t it? And he’s dancing! So, the complete sentence is: “I saw a bear at the circus.”

Now, let’s look at the options below to find the word “bear.” The first word is “baby.” Is that a bear? No, it’s not. What about “ball”? No, that’s not it. What about “bed”? Nope. And our last option is “bear.” There it is!

So, let’s read it again: “I saw a bear at the circus.” Let’s circle the word “bear.”

Now, the next sentence says: “If you have a fever, it is best to stay in…” Here’s the bed. Let’s find the word “bed.” The options are “boat,” “bed,” “bird,” and “baby.” Which one matches the picture? Yes, it’s the second one: “bed.” So, we will circle it.

The complete sentence is: “If you have a fever, it is best to stay in bed.” When you don’t feel good, it’s best to sleep in bed, isn’t it?

The last sentence says: “The player tries to hit the blank over the net.” What is this a picture of? It’s a ball! Let’s find the word “ball.” The options are “ball,” “bear,” “bird,” and “bed.” We’re looking for “ball,” which is the first one.

So, the complete sentence is: “The player tries to hit the ball over the net.”

Great job on your B words! That was so much fun. I loved finding those picture words. Nice job today! Bye-bye!
