Alphabets Sounds Video

share us on:

In this lesson, students engage in a fun reading activity with the help of characters Brad and Susan, who provide sentences and illustrations about different colored balls. The lesson emphasizes reading comprehension and counting, encouraging students to identify and count the balls mentioned in the sentences. Overall, it promotes the idea that consistent practice in reading will lead to improvement and mastery.
  1. What color was the first ball we read about?
  2. How many balls did we count together?
  3. What can you do to become a reading superstar?

Let’s Have Fun Learning!

Hey there! Are you ready to have some fun learning with me? Let’s start by reading some cool sentences together. We have a little help from our friends Brad and Susan. Brad wrote some sentences, and Susan drew some awesome pictures to help us understand them better. Let’s see if you can read the sentences before I do!

Reading Time!

Here we go! Let’s read the first sentence:

A red ball is here.

Great job! Now, let’s try the next one:

The big blue ball is there.

You’re doing amazing! Let’s read one more:

Where is the little yellow ball?

Can you find it? Yes, here it is!

Counting Balls

Now, let’s count how many balls we talked about in the sentences. Ready?

One, two, three! We talked about three balls. And guess what? One of them is blue!

Keep Reading and Learning!

You’re doing such a great job with reading! Remember, the more you read, the better you get. Keep practicing, and you’ll be a reading superstar in no time!

Thanks for learning with me today. Let’s keep having fun and learning new things together!

  • Can you think of a time when you played with a ball? What color was it, and what games did you play?
  • Imagine you have a magic ball that can change colors. What colors would you choose for your ball, and why?
  • How many different places can you think of where you might find a ball? Can you describe one of those places and what you might do there?
  1. Color Hunt: Let’s go on a color hunt! Look around your home or classroom and find objects that are red, blue, and yellow, just like the balls in the sentences. Can you find at least one object of each color? Share what you found with a friend or family member and describe where you found them.

  2. Draw and Tell: Draw your own picture of a ball. It can be any color you like! Once you’ve finished your drawing, write a sentence about your ball. For example, “My ball is green.” Share your drawing and sentence with the class and see if they can read your sentence.

  3. Ball Count Adventure: Next time you play with balls, count how many you have. Are there more than three? Less than three? Try to use the words “here” and “there” to describe where the balls are. For example, “The red ball is here, and the blue ball is there.” Share your adventure with a friend!

Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:

[Music]

Rock and learn!

Wow!

Hey, are you refreshed from your nap?

Yeah, I’m ready to learn some more!

Why don’t we practice reading some words we’ve learned first? While you were asleep, Brad wrote some sentences. These sentences have a couple of words that you might not have learned yet, so I asked Susan to draw some pictures to go with them. She’s good at drawing! See if you can read the sentences before I do.

Three balls, and one of the balls is blue.

I guess you could say I’m on the ball when it comes to reading!

You sure are! The more you read, the better you get!

Let me know if you need any further modifications!
