Hello, friends! Today, we’re going to have some fun with a story called “Snow Bunnies, Blue Blankets” by Tatyana Fini. Let’s dive into the adventure together!
Once upon a time, there was a little bunny named Small Bunny. He had a favorite blue blanket that he loved very much. Small Bunny took his blue blanket everywhere he went!
Small Bunny used his blue blanket for all sorts of fun things. It helped him swing higher on the swings, paint beautiful pictures, and even read tricky words in his books. Small Bunny and his blue blanket were the best of friends!
Do you have a favorite toy or blanket? Ryan had a teddy bear he took everywhere, and Creek had a teddy bear named Brownie. They even had a stuffed animal seal named Sammy who went on ocean adventures!
One day, while playing in the sandbox, Small Bunny’s mommy called him. She thought the blue blanket needed a wash. Small Bunny wasn’t so sure about this idea. He liked his blanket just the way it was!
After a wash and some drying, Small Bunny’s blue blanket was clean and ready for more fun. It was perfect again, just like before!
Remember, it’s okay to have favorite things and take them on adventures. Just like Small Bunny and his blue blanket, you can have fun and be creative with your special toys!
Thanks for joining us for Story Time! Remember to be creative and have fun. We’ll see you next time for another exciting story!

Share your adventure map with your friends and tell them about the exciting places you would go.
Favorite Things Show and Tell: Bring your favorite toy or blanket to class and tell your friends why it’s special to you. What fun things do you do together? How does it make you feel? Listen to your friends’ stories too and see if you have any similar adventures!
Creative Blanket Uses: Just like Small Bunny used his blue blanket for different activities, think of new and fun ways you can use a blanket. Can it be a superhero cape, a picnic mat, or a magic carpet? Try out your ideas at home and share your favorite one with the class!

Hey, I’m Ryan Lagarde and I’m Creek Toby. Welcome to Story Time with Ryan Lagarde! This week’s special guest is… today’s book is “Snow Bunnies, Blue Blankets” by Tatyana Fini.
Small Bunny loved his blue blanket. Everything Small Bunny did, he did with his blue blanket. Oh, guys, I had something that I loved and took everywhere as a kid—it was my teddy bear!
I also had a teddy bear; I called him Brownie.
Wow! I had a seal.
Oh, like a stuffed animal seal, not a real seal. His name was Sammy, and he was slimy!
Small Bunny needed his blue blanket to help him go even higher on the swings. He needed his blue blanket to help him paint his best pictures, and he needed it to help him read the hardest words in his books. Small Bunny and his blue blanket were always together.
Oh, my bear and I went to dance class together. My bear and I went to karate class together. Sammy and I went on long hunts in the ocean for fish and clams.
Where were your parents?
Ryan, Sammy was my friend! One day, when they were in the sandbox, Mommy called…
How old is Mommy Bunny?
She sounds much older than… this is not okay! Small Bunny thought his blue blanket was perfect the way it was, but his mommy didn’t agree.
Hey, everyone can see you! Get under the pillow! It literally just looks like you have a pillow hat on.
I want to take a bath! After Small Bunny was washed and dried, Mommy picked up the blue blanket and put it in the washing machine.
“Don’t worry,” she said.
Small Bunny did not agree; he did not like it new.
But after plenty of swinging, painting, reading, and playing, the blue blanket was just the way it was before—perfect, but dirtier after all that playing around.
When Sammy got dirty, we went to the car wash. Seals aren’t allowed at car washes, but Sammy was a friend to the people.
