Rachel had always dreamed of becoming a famous actress, and her dream was finally coming true! A well-known talent agency invited her for an interview. When she arrived at the office, she had to figure out who her new agent was among four people in the conference room.
Rachel noticed that one person didn’t have an employee badge, so he was probably a guest. Another man wore a fancy suit but brought coffee for everyone, so he was likely an assistant. A lady had a mug that said “World’s Best Lawyer,” so she handled legal issues. The relaxed lady was Rachel’s agent, Zoe!
Zoe invited Rachel to sit down, but Rachel had to choose carefully. One chair was missing a leg, another had coffee spilled on it, and a third had a cup labeled “The Boss” next to it. The last chair had a sweater on it. Rachel chose the chair with the sweater since it was the only good option.
To test Rachel’s smarts, Zoe gave her a puzzle. She used three pencils to make a triangle and asked Rachel to create a perfect square by moving just one pencil. Can you figure it out?
After the meeting, Zoe received a secret script from a writer. But someone was trying to steal it! It was the assistant, who was using his phone’s camera to take pictures of the mirrored ceiling while Zoe read the script.
Rachel went to her first audition for a lead role in a new series. The main character had poor eyesight, so all actresses wore fake glasses. Rachel didn’t get the part, but another actress, Sally, did. Suddenly, Sally fainted, and Rachel called an ambulance. The doctors said Sally was poisoned, but everyone ate the same snacks. It turned out that an actress gave Sally a poisoned wet wipe to clean her glasses.
The next day, Rachel met a famous director named Stan at a theater. She noticed five strange things: a chandelier not hanging from the ceiling, a fan blowing the wrong way, footsteps on the ceiling, red spotlights with blue stage lighting, and a ballerina’s shadow in the wrong direction.
Stan introduced Rachel to triplets: Josh, Stephen, and Tyler. One would tell the truth, and the others would lie. The first guy said he was Josh, the second said he was Stephen, and the third said the second always tells the truth. Rachel figured out that the first guy was Josh, the second was Tyler, and the third was Stephen.
Rachel needed an apartment in Hollywood. She visited three agencies. The first apartment was on a non-existent sixth floor, and the second wouldn’t be ready until 2025. Rachel chose the third apartment, which was perfect!
Rachel moved into her new apartment but noticed something strange in the bathroom. There was no shower drain!
Rachel’s neighbors, Peter and Victor, brought her cakes. Only one was edible. Victor’s cake had almond flakes, while Peter’s had human nails. Yuck!
Rachel sent Zoe a selfie, saying she was alone at home. But Zoe noticed someone else in the picture and called Rachel a liar!
At a party, Rachel met Nick, a billionaire. She lost him in the crowd but later spotted three guys who looked like him. The real Nick didn’t have a tattoo, so Rachel found him!
Nick offered Rachel a suitcase of gold if she solved a riddle. He showed her four coins, and she had to find the real one. The real coin didn’t have “BCE” on it, as people didn’t use that term back then.
Rachel called a taxi, but three identical cars showed up. She chose the third car because the first had a creepy guy in the back, and the second was missing a wheel.
At Zoe’s party, her son Harry was with a girl. Zoe found a lipstick-stained fork in Harry’s room, matching Jennifer’s red lipstick.
Rachel went for a run and saw two identical women, but there were five differences between them. Can you spot them?
Rachel found her neighbor Peter unconscious but later saw him happy and drinking juice. How did he survive? He’s a vampire!
Rachel arrived at the agency to find it in chaos. Three suspects were questioned. Jessica, a lawyer, was lying because her mug was the only one not broken. She wanted to destroy some documents and faked a robbery.
Acting Detective: Just like Rachel had to figure out who her agent was, let’s play a detective game! Look around your classroom or home and find three things that seem out of place. Write down what they are and why you think they don’t belong. Share your findings with a friend or family member and see if they agree with your detective skills!
Pencil Puzzle Challenge: Try solving the pencil puzzle that Rachel faced. Take three pencils and arrange them to form a triangle. Now, try to make a square by moving just one pencil. If you get stuck, ask a friend or family member to help you think of different ways to solve it. Remember, sometimes looking at things from a new angle can help!
Spot the Differences: Rachel noticed strange things at the theater. Let’s play a spotting game! Find two pictures that look almost the same but have five differences. You can draw them yourself or find them in a book or online. Circle the differences and share them with a friend. Can they find all the differences too?
