In today’s Storytime lesson, we explored the theme of imagination and extraordinary possibilities, encouraging children to envision amazing scenarios like flying or having magical pets. We also discussed the importance of personal interests, such as drawing or playing sports, and highlighted that extraordinary things can be found all around us if we take the time to look. The session concluded with an invitation to continue reading and discovering new stories.
  1. What is something amazing you wish you could do?
  2. Can you think of a fun thing you like to do, like drawing or playing?
  3. What extraordinary thing have you seen around you today?

Welcome to Storytime!

Hello, friends! Welcome to Storytime! I hope you’re having a sunny day. It’s a bit chilly here, but still nice. Are you back at school and reading lots of fun books?

Today’s Special Story

Today, we have a special story by Ben Clanton. If you want to read the book yourself, you can find it in the links below.

Wishing for Extraordinary Things

Let’s imagine some amazing things together! What if you could fly like a bird or swim underwater like a fish? What if your drawings could come to life and dance around? Wouldn’t it be fun if the rain was colorful and tasted like candy?

Imagine if every step you took made a silly sound, or if you had a big fluffy tail and sharp fangs! How cool would it be to talk to animals and understand what they’re saying?

What Do You Like to Do?

I love to draw! What about you? Do you like to swim or play football? Maybe you dream of having a funny pet or even 22 pets!

Looking for Something Wow!

Sometimes, we wish for something amazing to happen. Something real and exciting! Have you ever seen something extraordinary? What do you wish for?

Extraordinary Things Are Everywhere

Did you know that amazing things are happening all around us? Sometimes, you just need to look closely to see them!

  • What is something extraordinary you have seen or experienced in your life? How did it make you feel?
  • If you could have any magical ability, like flying or talking to animals, what would it be and why?
  • Think about a time when you wished for something amazing to happen. Did it come true, or did something else surprising happen instead?
  1. Imagination Drawing: Grab some paper and crayons or markers. Draw something extraordinary that you wish could happen in real life. Maybe it’s a flying car or a rainbow-colored cat! Share your drawing with a friend or family member and tell them why you chose to draw it.

  2. Nature Walk Adventure: Go on a short walk with a grown-up and try to find something extraordinary in nature. It could be a colorful flower, an interesting rock, or a bird singing a beautiful song. Talk about why you think it’s special and how it makes you feel.

  3. Storytime Theater: With the help of an adult, create a simple puppet or use toys to act out a story where something extraordinary happens. Maybe your puppet can talk to animals or discover a hidden treasure. Perform your story for your family and see if they can guess what extraordinary thing is happening!

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the Storytime Family. I hope it’s sunny where you are. It’s a little chilly over here, but still overall pretty nice. I hope you’re back at school and reading lots of books!

Today, we have something extraordinary by Ben Clanton. Before we get started, if you’d like a copy of this book, the links are in the description below.

Let’s have a look at something extraordinary.

I wish I could fly and breathe underwater. I wish my drawings could come to life and that I could move things with my mind. I wish the rain came in seven different colors and flavors. I wish that every time I took a step, it would make a funny sound. And I wish I had a big bushy tail and fangs too. I really, really wish I could talk with animals.

I like to draw. What do you like to do?

I swim mostly, but I also like to play football. And I wish I had an unusual pet—or 22!

I wish for many things, but mostly I wish that something would happen—something real, something wow!

Hello! Where did all of you come from? Extraordinary! Did you see something extraordinary? What do you wish for?

You know, there are extraordinary things happening all the time. Sometimes you just have to look closely.
