Sports II – Vocabulary for Kids

Hello, friends! Today, we’re going to learn about different sports while we complete our sports sticker album. Let’s open an envelope and see which sports stickers we have!

Table Tennis

The first sticker is for table tennis. To play table tennis, you need a paddle, a very light ball, a table, and a net. Don’t forget, you also need someone to play against!

Badminton

Next, we have a badminton sticker. Badminton is similar to tennis. You use a racket, but instead of a ball, you hit something called a shuttlecock.

Baseball

Here’s a baseball sticker. In baseball, players use a bat to hit a ball that the other team throws to them. It’s a fun game to play and watch!

Hockey

Now we have a hockey sticker. In hockey, you use a stick to hit a puck or ball into the other team’s goal. You can play hockey on ice, grass, or special fields called turf.

Paragliding

Next up is paragliding. In paragliding, you fly from a hill using a parachute to help you glide down safely. It’s like flying like a bird!

Gymnastics

Here’s a gymnastics sticker. Gymnastics is all about doing exercises that help you become strong, flexible, and balanced. It’s amazing to watch gymnasts perform!

Handball

Now we have a handball sticker. In handball, you use your hands to throw a ball into the other team’s goal. It’s a fast and exciting game!

Horseback Riding

This sticker is for horseback riding. In this sport, you ride horses. People enjoy racing horses or jumping over obstacles in competitions.

Sailing

Next, we have a sailing sticker. Sailing is the sport of steering a boat that moves with the wind. It’s a great way to enjoy the water!

Volleyball

The last sticker is for volleyball. Volleyball is a team sport where you hit a ball over a net and try to land it in the other team’s court using your hands.

Recap

Wow, we learned about so many sports today: table tennis, badminton, baseball, hockey, paragliding, gymnastics, handball, horseback riding, sailing, and volleyball. Thanks for helping me complete the sports sticker album. See you next time!

  • Which of the sports we talked about today would you like to try and why? Do you think it would be fun to play with your friends or family?
  • Have you ever watched any of these sports on TV or in person? What did you like about it, and how did it make you feel?
  • Can you think of any other sports that weren’t mentioned in the sticker album? What do you know about them, and would you like to learn more?
  1. Sports Equipment Hunt: Go on a mini scavenger hunt around your home or school to find items that can be used to play the sports we learned about. For example, look for a ball, a racket, or a stick. Once you find them, try to match each item with the sport it belongs to. Can you think of any other sports equipment you might need for these sports?

  2. Design Your Own Sport: Use your imagination to create a new sport! Think about what equipment you would need, how many players are on each team, and what the rules might be. Draw a picture of your sport and share it with your friends or family. What makes your sport fun and exciting?

  3. Sports Observation Journal: Over the next week, keep a journal of any sports you see or hear about. This could be on TV, in a book, or even in your neighborhood. Write down the name of the sport, what equipment is used, and what you find interesting about it. How many different sports can you discover?

Hello again, friends! We have to complete the sports sticker album we started in the previous video. I have another envelope with stickers. Let’s see which ones I got this time.

The first sticker is a table tennis sticker. To play table tennis, you need a paddle, a very light ball, a table, and a net. Oh, you also need an opponent.

The next one is a badminton sticker. Badminton is very much like tennis; it’s a racket sport too, but instead of a ball, you hit the shuttlecock.

This one is a baseball sticker. In baseball, players use a bat to hit the ball thrown by the opponent.

Next, we have a hockey sticker. To play hockey, you need to shoot the puck or the ball into the opponent’s goal using just a stick. You can play hockey on ice, grass, or turf fields.

Let’s have a look at the next one: paragliding. Paragliding consists of soaring from a slope using a parachute to control the descent.

Next, we have gymnastics. Gymnastics is a sport based on a set of exercises to develop and improve balance, agility, flexibility, or endurance.

The next sticker is a handball sticker. Handball is a sport in which the ball is shot into the opponent’s goal using only your hands.

And this is a horseback riding sticker. Horseback riding is the sport of riding horses. Some examples are horse racing or show jumping.

Let’s see what the next one is: a sailing sticker. Sailing is the sport of steering a sailing boat propelled by the wind.

And the last one is a volleyball sticker. Volleyball is a team sport in which you hit a ball over the net into the opponent’s court using your hands.

So many sports! Let’s recap them: table tennis, badminton, baseball, hockey, paragliding, gymnastics, handball, horseback riding, sailing, and volleyball.

Awesome! We’ve completed the sports sticker album. Thank you for helping me. See you soon!
