Right now, many people are staying at home to keep safe. This is called quarantine. It’s important to take care of ourselves and stay healthy during this time.
Just like you, my cat and I are spending a lot of time indoors. We are doing our part to help stop the virus from spreading. Even though we are safe and cozy at home, we can’t do all the things we usually do.
Because of the situation, we can’t make our usual videos. But don’t worry! Our team is working hard from home to find new ways to bring you fun and educational content.
Here are some easy things you can do to stay safe: stay at home, keep a safe distance from others, and wash your hands often. These simple steps can help keep you and others healthy.
Even though things are different right now, it’s important to stay positive and flexible. We are grateful for your support as we all go through this together. Remember to stay safe and take care!
Handwashing Experiment: Let’s see how washing hands helps keep us safe! You will need some glitter and lotion. First, rub some lotion on your hands, then sprinkle glitter over them. Try washing your hands with just water. What happens? Now, try washing with soap and water. Notice the difference? Discuss why soap is important for cleaning your hands.
Quarantine Journal: Start a daily journal where you write or draw about your day during quarantine. Include things like what activities you did, how you felt, and any new things you learned. At the end of the week, look back at your entries and see how you’ve adapted to staying at home. Share your favorite entry with a family member.
Safe Distance Game: With a family member, measure out a safe distance of about 6 feet using a tape measure or a string. Mark the distance on the floor with tape. Practice staying this far apart while doing different activities, like playing catch or having a conversation. Discuss why keeping this distance is important and how it helps keep everyone safe.
