Hi there! My name is Ryan Legod.
And I’m Craig Tovi.
We’re so happy you’re here for Story Time with us!
Today, we’re reading a fun book called “The OK Book” by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld. Let’s dive in!
Our story begins with a friendly character who says, “Hi, how are you?” He feels okay! Do you know what “okay” means? It means feeling just fine, not too happy and not too sad.
Our friend loves trying lots of new things. He might not be the best at everything, but he enjoys them all the same. Let’s see what he tries!
He tries juggling, but it’s a bit tricky, so he focuses on one ball. That’s okay!
He tries skipping, climbing, and even roasting marshmallows. Oops, that marshmallow got a little burnt!
He walks on a tightrope, plays in the field, and even tries sledding. Sometimes things don’t go as planned, but that’s part of the fun!
Our friend tries flying a kite, playing tug-of-war, and sharing snacks. Sharing is caring, even if the snacks are a bit funny!
He tries doing headstands and flipping pancakes. Look, a pancake hat! How silly!
Our friend knows that one day he’ll be really good at something. He doesn’t know what it is yet, but he’s having a great time trying different things.
And that’s the end of our story! Or maybe it’s just the beginning of more fun adventures. Remember, it’s okay to try new things and have fun along the way!
Thanks for joining Story Time with Ryan Legod and Craig Tovi. We hope you had fun! See you next time!
Try Something New Day: Choose a day where you try something new, just like our friend in the story. It could be a new game, a new food, or even a new way to draw. After trying it, share with the class how it felt. Was it fun? Was it a little tricky? Remember, it’s okay if you’re not perfect at it!
Feelings Chart: Create a feelings chart with different faces showing emotions like happy, sad, and okay. Throughout the week, mark how you’re feeling each day. Discuss with your classmates what makes you feel okay and what makes you feel happy or sad. This will help you understand your feelings better.
Sharing is Caring Activity: Bring a small snack or toy to class and practice sharing with a friend. Notice how sharing makes you and your friend feel. Talk about why sharing is important and how it can make trying new things more fun.
Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:

Welcome to Story Time with Ryan Legod and Craig Tovi.

Let’s get started!
“The OK Book” by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld.
Hi, how are you?
I’m okay.
He’s okay.
I know he just said that.
No, no, no! Look at the letters O and K. They make up his head and his body.
Oh, so he feels fine. He’s okay.
Yeah, I get it. He feels good, but not too great, not too bad. He’s fine. He’s okay.
Let’s just keep reading.
I like to try a lot of different things. I’m not great at all of them, but I enjoy them just the same.
Well, looks like he gave up on juggling three balls.
Yeah, he’s just going to focus on that one, and that’s okay.
Yep, I am an okay skipper.
I’m an okay climber.
Well, I wouldn’t call that climbing; it’s definitely hanging, but I guess he’s okay at it.
Yeah, fine.
I am an okay marshmallow roaster.
Nope, that’s burnt.
Yep, can’t eat that.
I mean, I would, but… 100%.
Yeah, should we go make s’mores?
I’m an okay tightrope walker.
I’m an okay left fielder.
I’m an okay right fielder.
Well, they’re clearly going over his head, so maybe he’ll make an okay diving catch.
I’m an okay diver.
I’m an okay hider.
I’m an okay jumper.
I’m an okay sledder.
Wow, his body has left the sled, and that’s not okay. I’d say that’s bad.
I would agree.
I’m an okay kite flyer.
Kite’s in the tree, buddy, and we already know you’re not a great climber. You can’t get that one down.
Snap!
I’m an okay tug-of-war player.
I’m an okay sharer.
What’s blue jelly?
What’s orange peanut butter?
Gross, no thanks.
I’m an okay headstander.
I’m an okay pancake flipper.
Pancake hat! Cool!

Yay! I’m an okay fisher.
Uh, that’s not a fish; it’s… what is that?
I’m an okay swimmer.
I’m an okay lightning bug catcher.
One day I’ll grow up to be really excellent at something. I don’t know what it is yet.
I know it’s not climbing, hanging, sledding, or fishing, but I sure am having fun figuring it out.
One-handed cartwheel! That’s super hard! Cool!
Wow, the end? Or is it just the beginning?
