One morning, I woke up, yawned, and stretched my arms. I felt so cozy that I turned over and fell asleep again! When I finally woke up, I realized I was late. I remembered having an amazing dream about a book someone was reading.
I jumped out of bed, put on my bathrobe and slippers, and headed to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and waited for the water to get nice and warm. After my shower, I dried off, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair. Then, I got dressed and made my bed.
In the kitchen, I poured some cereal into a bowl, added banana slices and raisins, and poured milk over it. Yum! After eating, I noticed something funny—a book was in the fridge! I wondered who put it there. After cleaning up, I took my vitamins and made some tuna salad for lunch.
I packed my lunch, fed my cat, and tidied up the kitchen. I put on my boots, sweater, hat, scarf, coat, and mittens, then grabbed my backpack. I searched for my book but couldn’t find it anywhere.
At school, we did lots of fun activities. One of them was a math problem about sharing apples with friends. After school, I went home, took off my coat, and wrote down some tasks I needed to do, like fixing my pants.
I felt a bit worried because I didn’t have enough time to read my book. While my dad was cooking dinner, I watched the baby and tried to read, but it was hard with all the noise.
At dinner, I thought about reading my book, but I was too tired. I went to my room, changed into my pajamas, and opened the window to enjoy the cool night air. I crawled into bed and tried to read, but I was too sleepy.
With so many things to do every day, I worried I would never have enough time to read my book. But then I remembered that tomorrow is another day, and I can always try again.
Thanks for joining me on my busy day adventure! See you next time!
Morning Routine Role Play: Pretend you are getting ready for the day just like in the story. Act out each step from waking up to having breakfast. Use props like a bathrobe, a toothbrush, and a bowl for cereal. Think about what you do every morning and how it might be similar or different from the story. Share your routine with a friend or family member and ask them about theirs.
Time Detective: Keep a journal for one day and write down everything you do, just like the character in the story. Note the time you start and finish each activity. At the end of the day, look at your journal and see which activities took the most time. Discuss with a parent or teacher how you might manage your time differently to fit in something you love, like reading a book.
Book Hunt: Just like the character found a book in the fridge, go on a book hunt around your house or classroom. Look for books in unusual places. Once you find a book, take a few minutes to read a page or two. Think about why books are important and where you like to keep your favorite books. Share your thoughts with a friend or classmate.
