Stay Safe on the Train

When you get on the train, be careful! Stay behind the safety line and don’t push. Wait your turn and watch your steps.

Ouch! Be careful with the subway doors. They open and close, so don’t lean on them, or you might get hurt.

Have Fun, But Be Safe!

When you’re on the train, it can rock back and forth. Stay seated to be safe and don’t climb around.

Jumping Fun on the Trampoline!

Look, the trampoline is ready! Let’s jump with little Dino. Jump, jump, jump!

Trampoline Safety

No toys on the trampoline! It’s dangerous. And remember, don’t push your friends while jumping. Let’s have fun safely!

Yummy Soup Time!

It smells so good! The kitchen is making something tasty. Be careful, it’s hot! Sit and wait for your soup.

Enjoying Hot Soup

Before eating, let the soup cool down. It’s hot and tasty, but we need to be careful!

Bath Time Splash!

Let’s play in the bath! Splash, splash! But remember, blue is cold water, and red is hot. Be careful not to touch the hot water!

Oops, It’s Hot!

If you touch hot water, use cold water to cool it down. Find a clean towel and be careful next time!

Cooking with Mom

Hey, Mom, what are you cooking? Little Dino and I are hungry!

Mom is making pancakes! Let’s play until they’re ready.

Finding Yummy Treasures

Let’s look for yummy treasures! But remember, don’t eat things that aren’t food, like crayons or pills. Always ask first!

Discussion Questions

  1. Have you ever been on a train or a bus? What was it like, and how did you stay safe during the ride?
  2. When you play on a trampoline or in the bath, what are some things you do to make sure everyone stays safe and has fun?
  3. What is your favorite thing to do at the library or when playing pretend games like doctor? How do you make sure you follow the rules or stay safe while having fun?

Lesson Activities

  1. Train Safety Adventure: Create a mini train station in your classroom using chairs and a pretend train track. Have the children practice getting on and off the “train” safely. Encourage them to use imaginary tickets and remind them to stay behind the safety line. Ask them, “Why is it important to wait your turn and watch your steps when getting on the train?”
  2. Trampoline Safety Game: Set up a small area with a soft mat or cushion to mimic a trampoline. Have the children take turns “jumping” safely on the mat. Discuss why it’s important not to bring toys onto the trampoline and not to push friends while jumping. Ask them, “What could happen if we don’t follow these safety rules?”
  3. Hot and Cold Water Experiment: Use two bowls of water, one warm (not hot) and one cold. Let the children feel the difference between the two temperatures. Discuss how we should be careful with hot water, especially during bath time. Ask them, “What should you do if you accidentally touch hot water?”
