Hello, friends! How are you doing today? Have you been having fun at home and school? Are you learning lots of cool new things? We’re so happy you’re here to read with us!
Today, we’re reading a story called “The Bear and the Little Green Thing.” Let’s see what happens!
Once upon a time, a little green thing was on a journey with a bird. But oh no, it fell down and landed in a cold place. The little green thing was scared and said, “Please don’t hurt me! I was just traveling to a warm place. It’s so chilly here, and I need some warmth to stay alive. When spring comes, I’ll leave with the wind. I promise I can be helpful! I can be your fan when it’s hot and keep watch while you sleep. I’m great at chatting too, so you’ll never be bored!”
The bear didn’t say anything, so the little green thing thought it was okay to stay. As time passed, the little green thing and the bear became friends. The little green thing said, “Bear, do you ever feel lonely? When spring comes, I’ll have to go, but you can visit me anytime. You’ll find me among all the trees because we’re friends!”
When spring arrived, the little green thing left with the wind, but it didn’t go far. Even when friends leave, they stay in our hearts forever.

Hi there! I’m Bear, and I’m a nurse. I help people feel better when they’re sick. I work in a hospital, but nurses also work in schools, ambulances, and even helicopters!
I have a team of friends who help too. There’s Dr. Tiger, the radiographer; Monkey, the dietitian; and Bunny, the physiotherapist. We’re all here to take care of you!
Nurses have special tools like plasters, gauze, drops, and medicines to help people feel better. If someone needs help, we use a pulse oximeter to check their breathing and a stethoscope to listen to their heart.
You can help your friends too! Wash your hands with water and soap to keep germs away. If someone has a small cut, wash your hands, clean the cut, and put on a plaster. If someone has a burn, run it under cold water and cover it with a clean cloth.
If someone bumps their head, help them stay calm and put something cold on the bump. If someone with asthma needs help, get their inhaler and help them use it.
Some people have allergies, so we try to avoid things that make us feel unwell. Remember, you can always call for an ambulance if you need help!
Nurses are amazing, and they take great care of us. Let’s give them lots of love! If you want your own copy of this book, check the links below. Thanks for reading with us today! Like and subscribe for more stories. See you soon!
Friendship Tree Craft: Create a “Friendship Tree” with your classmates or family. Use colored paper to cut out leaves and write the names of your friends on each leaf. Attach the leaves to a tree trunk made from cardboard or paper. Discuss how each friend is unique and special, just like the leaves on a tree. How does it feel to have friends who are always there for you, even if they are far away?
Role-Playing First Aid: Set up a pretend play area with toy medical kits or homemade first aid supplies. Take turns being the nurse, doctor, or patient. Practice simple first aid steps like cleaning a pretend cut or helping someone with a toy inhaler. Talk about how helping others makes you feel and why it’s important to know basic first aid.
Nature Walk Observation: Go on a nature walk with a family member or friend. Look for different types of plants and trees. Can you find any “little green things” like the one in the story? Talk about how plants and trees are important to our environment and how they can be our friends too. What do you notice about the plants around you? How do they change with the seasons?

Welcome back to the Story Time family! How are you today? Have you been good at home? Have you been good at school? Have you been learning lots of new things this year?
Thank you for taking the time to sit down and read with us. Today, we have a book called “The Bear and the Little Green Thing.” Let’s find out what it’s about!
**The Bear and the Little Green Thing**
It started as a journey with a bird.
“Wait, don’t hurt me! I’m very sorry for being here without an invitation. I was traveling with a bird to a warm place, but I fell down during the journey. It’s so cold here, and I just need a little bit of your warmth to survive. As soon as spring arrives, I will leave with the wind, I promise. And I can be very helpful! For example, I can be your fan when it’s too hot, and I can be your guard when you sleep in case there is danger. I will wake you up immediately! I’m very good at observing, you know. I’m also excellent at chatting, so you will never get bored.”
No answer? I assume you agree.
“How dare you leave now? Go find your own bear!”
“See, I told you I was helpful! Bear, you know we saplings are not very used to exercise. Have you ever felt an earthquake? It’s a little like what I’m feeling now.”
“Do things look like that when we’re as big as a mountain? Bear, do you feel lonely sometimes? When spring arrives, I will be gone. But you can always come to see me when you miss me. Among millions of trees, you’ll be able to recognize me immediately, right? I will miss you. Goodbye, Bear.”
And just like that, the little green thing left on the journey with the wind. But nevertheless, it didn’t go very far. Some friends stay with you even after they’ve left. They do, don’t they? As long as you made the connection, they’ll always remain in your heart.

Now, let’s move on to the next book.
**Nurse Bear: First Aid by Martha Almanza**
Hi, my name is Bear, and I am a nurse. I look after children and grown-ups when they are unwell. I work in a hospital, and nurses also work in schools, ambulances, and even helicopters. Nurses like me don’t work alone.
This is Dr. Tiger, the radiographer; Monkey, the dietitian; and Bunny, the physiotherapist. Each of us is part of a big team, and we’re all here to look after you. Remember, if you see someone who is really sick, you can call us by dialing the emergency number.
Nurses have many special tools to help people feel better. We have things like plasters, gauze, drops, syrups, tablets, creams, and medicines.
Wait, someone needs my help! I will get my bag. I’m ready to do some checks.
The pulse oximeter has a magic red light that tells me how well someone is breathing and how strong their heart is. The blood pressure monitor shows me important information, and the stethoscope lets me hear all the noises in their body.
When I know whether someone has a headache or an upset tummy, I know what to do. You can help your friends when they’re feeling sick too!
Let’s wash our hands to keep all the germs away. Water and soap are enough. Just remember these steps: water, soap, rub, rinse, and dry.
If someone has a small cut, you can help. First, wash your hands, then press hard on the cut, clean it with water, pat it dry with a clean towel, put on a plaster, and tell a grown-up.
If someone has a burn, hold it under cold running water for 10 minutes, shout for help, then cover it with cling film or a clean plastic bag.
If someone has a bump on their head, help them stay calm, tell a grown-up, and hold something cold where they hit their head.
If someone has asthma and is having an attack, help them sit down, tell them not to worry, get their inhaler, and help them use it.
Some animals, boys, and girls have allergies. Allergies can make us feel unwell, so we always try to avoid the things we’re allergic to.
It was nice meeting you and showing you what nurses do. Remember, you can help a lot too! If you need us, call for an ambulance. We’re always here to help you.
Nurses are amazing, aren’t they? They do all the work, and we should give them lots of love for taking care of us.
