Hello, friends! How are you feeling today? Can you believe it’s already September? Time goes by so fast! Are you back at school? It must be so much fun to see your friends again. I hope you’ve had lots of time to read some great books!
Today, we’re going to read a story called “The Boy on the Page” by Peter Carnivas. Let’s see what happens in this story!
One quiet morning, a little boy landed on a page. At first, there was nothing else there. But slowly, a whole world started to appear! New things began to grow, and the boy grew too.
The boy started exploring his new world. He had one big question: Why was he here? As he looked around, he found himself doing all kinds of fun things! He rolled down a hill, rode a horse, caught a shiny fish, planted a tree, paddled a canoe, played music, saved a small animal, stood in the rain, and painted a picture.
The boy grew up and fell in love. He climbed a mountain and saw the whole world in someone’s eyes. He built a house, shared lunch, and gave someone a place to stay. Isn’t that nice? He grew vegetables, trained a dog, and even put out a fire!
Sometimes, when the moon was high in the sky, the boy still wondered why he was on the page. To find out, he tried something new: he jumped off the page! But he quickly tumbled back. Waiting for him were all the things he had made, the animals he cared for, and the people he loved.
Finally, the boy knew why he was there. He was there for the people he loved and the things he loved to do. Just like you are here for the people you love and all the fun things you do together!
Did you like “The Boy on the Page”? It’s such a beautiful story, isn’t it? Remember, you are here to enjoy life with the people you love. I hope you liked the story as much as I did!
If you want to hear more stories, make sure to let us know! Take care, and see you soon for more storytime fun!
Create Your Own Page: Just like the boy in the story, let’s create our own page! Take a blank sheet of paper and draw a world of your own. What would you like to have in your world? Maybe a big tree, a friendly animal, or a magical castle? Use crayons or markers to bring your world to life. Share your drawing with your friends and tell them about the adventures you would have there!
Adventure Hunt: Go on a mini-adventure around your home or school. Look for things that remind you of the boy’s adventures. Can you find something that looks like a hill to roll down, a tree to plant, or a place to play music? Take a moment to imagine what it would be like to explore these places. Share your findings with your classmates and talk about what adventures you would like to have.
Why Are You Here? Just like the boy, think about why you are here. What are some things you love to do? Who are the people you love to be with? Draw or write about one thing you love to do and one person you love to spend time with. Share your thoughts with the class and listen to what others have to say. It’s fun to learn about what makes each of us special!

Hi everyone, welcome back to the Storytime family! How’s everyone feeling today? Can you believe it’s already September? How time flies! Are you back at school yet? If you have, it must be amazing to see your friends again. I hope you’ve had lots of time to read.
Today, we have “The Boy on the Page” by Peter Carnivas. Let’s find out what the story is about.
One quiet morning, a small boy landed on the page. At first, there was nothing else, but very slowly, a world began to appear. New life emerged, things started to grow, and so did the boy.
As he wandered through his new world, one question troubled him: Why was he here? The boy looked around the page, and then, before he knew it, he was doing all sorts of things. He rolled down a hill, rode a horse, caught a shiny silver fish, planted a tree, paddled a canoe, played an accordion, saved a small animal, stood in the pouring rain, and painted a portrait.
The boy grew up and fell in love. He climbed a mountain and saw the whole world in somebody’s eyes. He built a house, gave someone lunch, and provided a place to stay. Now that’s really nice, don’t you think? He grew vegetables, trained a dog, and put out a fire.
But every now and then, as the moon rolled through the deep blue sky, he still wondered why he had landed on a page. Looking for answers, he tried something he had never tried before: he jumped off the page, only to tumble straight back. Waiting for him there was everything he had ever made, every animal he had ever cared for, and every person he had ever loved.
At last, he knew why he was here.
How did you enjoy “The Boy on the Page”? It’s such a beautiful story, don’t you think? I love stories like this. Do you know why you’re here? You are here because of the people you love, the connections you make. You’re here to do all the things you love with the people you love.
