Bath Time Fun with the Letter D

Bath time can be a lot of fun! Do you remember my rubber duck? It’s one of my favorite bath toys. Let’s learn something cool about the word “duck.”

The Letter D

The word “duck” starts with the letter D. The letter D makes the “D” sound, just like in “duck.” Can you think of other words that start with the letter D?

After bath time, it’s important to get all dry. And don’t forget the fun squeaky sound the rubber duck makes!

Next time you’re in the bath, see if you can spot other things that start with the letter D. Have fun learning!

  • Can you think of any other toys or objects you have at home that start with the letter D? What are they, and why do you like them?
  • What sounds do you hear when you play with your bath toys? Can you make a sound like a rubber duck?
  • Have you ever seen a real duck? Where was it, and what did it look like? How was it different from your rubber duck?
  1. Duck Hunt: Go on a “Duck Hunt” around your house or classroom! Look for objects that start with the letter D. Can you find a door, a doll, or a drawing? Make a list of all the D words you discover and share them with your friends or family.

  2. Draw and Decorate: Grab some paper and crayons or markers. Draw a big letter D and decorate it with pictures or stickers of things that start with D. You can add a duck, a dog, or even a donut! Hang your artwork somewhere special to remind you of all the fun D words.

  3. Sound Detective: Be a sound detective and listen for the “D” sound in words around you. Ask a family member or friend to say a few words, and see if you can identify which ones start with the letter D. How many can you find in a day?
