The Letter O

This is the letter O. It can be written in two ways: the big O, which is called uppercase, and the small o, which is called lowercase. Both of them are important and used in different places.

The Sound of O

The letter O makes a special sound. It sounds like /ah/, just like when you say the word “octopus.” Can you hear the /ah/ sound in “octopus”? Try saying it out loud!
