Once upon a time, on a farm by the river, there was a duck named Mallory. Mallory was very excited because she had seven eggs! She sat on them, keeping them warm until one day, they hatched into seven fluffy ducklings.
Mallory thought hard about what to name her ducklings. She decided to name them after the days of the week! So, she called them Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Every morning, Mama Duck would call her ducklings. Let’s say their names together: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The ducklings would line up, ready for their day.
Mama Duck took her ducklings to the pond for a swim. First came Sunday, the first day of the week. Then came Monday, the second day, followed by Tuesday, the third day, Wednesday, the fourth day, Thursday, the fifth day, Friday, the sixth day, and finally Saturday, the last day of the week.
The ducklings splashed and played in the water, having so much fun! Then, Papa Drake came to find them, and he quacked loudly. The ducklings quickly jumped out of the pond to join him.
Can you help put the ducklings in order? Let’s try: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Great job! You know the days of the week!

Duckling Parade: Gather some toy ducks or make paper ducklings. Label each one with a day of the week. Ask the children to line them up in the correct order, just like Mama Duck did with her ducklings. Encourage them to say the days of the week out loud as they arrange the ducklings. This will help reinforce the sequence of the days.
Days of the Week Song: Sing a song about the days of the week. You can use a familiar tune like “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” and create simple lyrics that include the names of the days. Encourage the children to clap or march in place as they sing each day. This musical activity will make learning the days fun and memorable.
Weekly Calendar Craft: Provide each child with a blank weekly calendar template. Ask them to draw or paste pictures of activities they do on each day, like going to school, playing, or visiting family. This activity helps them connect the days of the week with their own experiences, making the concept more relatable and easier to remember.
