Welcome to a fun story called “The Spy Who Loved Cookies!” In this adventure, our friend Cookie Monster is on a mission. This story is full of laughs, excitement, and an important lesson about listening and following directions.
Oh no! In the royal kingdom, someone has stolen the special crown cookies. The Queen is very upset because Lady Finger, the villain, took them. Lady Finger wants to destroy the cookies, and the kingdom needs a hero to save the day!
Since the best secret agent is busy, the kingdom calls on a new hero: Double-Stuffed 7! He is brave and ready for an adventure. But he has a big problem—he has to find his way through Lady Finger’s tricky hideout using a control panel with lots of buttons and switches.
Double-Stuffed 7 needs to listen carefully to the Doctor’s instructions to succeed. The Doctor tells him which buttons to press and in what order. This teaches us how important it is to listen and follow directions correctly.
Even with all the challenges, Double-Stuffed 7 remembers the magic words: “green after blue.” He finally gets into Lady Finger’s hideout and saves the crown cookies! The Queen is so happy and thankful.
“The Spy Who Loved Cookies” is more than just a story about cookies and villains. It teaches us about listening, following directions, and solving problems. This adventure shows us that anyone can be a hero with a little help from friends—and a lot of cookies!
Follow the Cookie Trail: Create a simple obstacle course or a treasure hunt at home or in the classroom. Use colored paper or markers to create a sequence of steps that the children must follow to find a hidden “cookie” (or any small prize). Encourage them to pay attention to the order of the steps, just like Double-Stuffed 7 had to do. After the activity, discuss how following the correct order helped them succeed.
Simon Says with a Twist: Play a game of “Simon Says” but add a twist by giving instructions that must be followed in a specific sequence. For example, “Simon says touch your nose, then clap your hands, and finally jump once.” This will help children practice active listening and following sequential instructions, reinforcing the lesson from the story.
Story Time Reflection: Ask the children to think about a time when they had to listen carefully to instructions, like following a recipe or building something with blocks. Encourage them to share their experiences with the class. Discuss what happened when they followed the instructions correctly and what they learned if they made a mistake. This will help them connect the story’s lesson to real-life situations.
