Hop on the Grover Express with Grover, the friendly and furry bus driver from Sesame Street! We’re going on a fun adventure filled with songs, friendly characters, and learning about how we all work together in our community.
As we start our trip, Grover invites us to sing “The Wheels on the Bus.” This song is super fun and helps us learn about music and repeating words. Let’s sing together and have fun!
The song starts with the wheels on Grover’s bus going round and round. We can sing along and repeat the words, which helps us remember and learn new words!
As the bus goes around Sesame Street, we meet some special friends who join us on the ride.
First, we meet a dinosaur who says a big “roar!” This friend helps us imagine and learn about different animals and the sounds they make.
Next, an alligator joins us with a “chomp, chomp, chomp.” This teaches us about different animals and makes us curious about the world around us.
Then, we meet the Honker, who makes a funny sound. The Honker shows us how important it is to talk and share our feelings with others.
Grover asks everyone where they want to go next. Maybe the playground, the ice cream shop, or even the dentist! We learn about all the places we can visit in our neighborhood.
The Grover Express is more than just a fun ride; it’s a way to learn and imagine! We learn about buses, animal sounds, and being part of a community. Whether we’re singing or dreaming about new adventures, the Grover Express helps us explore the world around us!
Animal Sound Hunt: After learning about the different animals on the Grover Express, let’s go on an animal sound hunt! With a parent or teacher, take a walk around your neighborhood or a nearby park. Listen carefully for any animal sounds you might hear, like birds chirping or dogs barking. Can you mimic the sounds you hear? Draw a picture of the animal you heard and share it with your friends or family.
Community Helpers Role Play: Grover took us to different places in the community. Let’s pretend to be community helpers! Choose a role like a bus driver, a teacher, or a shopkeeper. Use toys or household items to set up a mini community. Act out a day in the life of your chosen role. What do you do to help others? Share your role play with your classmates or family.
Create Your Own Bus Song: Just like “The Wheels on the Bus,” let’s create our own bus song! Think of different things that could happen on your bus ride. Maybe the cat on the bus goes “meow, meow, meow,” or the rain on the bus goes “drip, drop, drip.” Write down your ideas and sing your new song with your friends or family. What fun sounds can you come up with?
