The Boy and His Bicycle

There was a boy who needed his bicycle to get flowers for Rose. But oh no! The bicycle couldn’t go without its pedal!

The Stuck Pedal

The pedal was stuck in the ground. It got stuck when a boy named Blake had an accident. He crashed and had to walk his bicycle home. Blake wanted to get flowers for Rose because it was her birthday.

Blake and His Mom, Julie

Blake told his mom, Julie, about the stuck pedal. Julie drives a big truck and helps with lots of things. She drove Blake and the bicycle to where the pedal was stuck.

Julie to the Rescue!

Julie is super strong! She pulled the pedal out of the ground with one quick yank. Then, she used a wrench to fix the pedal back on the bicycle. Hooray for Julie!

Picking Flowers for Rose

Now the bicycle had both pedals again. Blake and the bicycle went to the meadow to pick roses for Rose. They rode all the way to give the flowers to Rose because she loves them!

A Sweet Surprise

Blake gave Rose the flowers and said, “Happy birthday, Rose! I love you.” But guess what? Rose smiled and said, “I like tulips!”

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the Storytime Family. How’s everyone doing today? How was school? Did you learn anything new today?

Well, thanks for taking the time to sit down and read with us. Today we have a book called “There Once Was a Bicycle” by Danielle T. Lane. Let’s have a look, shall we?

There was once a bicycle that needed a pedal. It needed a pedal so it could pedal to get flowers. There once was a bicycle that needed to get flowers because it was Rose’s birthday, and Rose loves flowers.

There was once a boy who needed his bicycle. He needed his bicycle to get flowers for Rose, and that bicycle can’t pedal without its pedal to get flowers for Rose, who loves flowers.

There was once a pedal that was stuck in the ground. It was stuck in the ground just waiting to be found. It was stuck in the ground because a boy named Blake broke that bicycle when he crashed to the ground and walked that bicycle home from the other side of town. He rode that bicycle to the other side of town to pick flowers for Rose because it was Rose’s birthday, and Rose loves flowers.

Blake went to his mother and told her that the pedal was still in the ground because it was stuck, and he couldn’t get it out. So he walked that bicycle home from the other side of town where the pedal was still in the ground.

Blake’s mother’s name is Julie, and Julie drives a truck. Julie drives a truck because she does all kinds of stuff. Julie drove her truck to the other side of town with a bicycle in the back, waiting for its pedal to be found. Blake showed Julie where the pedal was stuck in the ground, and with one quick yank, Julie pulled the pedal out of the ground because she is super strong.

The pedal was found and needed to be put back on the bicycle somehow. So with a wrench in her truck and no need for luck, Julie put that pedal back on the bicycle. Julie is awesome!

There was once a bicycle that had both its pedals. Blake and that bicycle pedaled to the meadow to pick roses for Rose. Blake and the bicycle pedaled from the other side of town to give roses to Rose because Rose loves flowers, and it was her birthday. He gave her a smile along with the roses and said, “Happy birthday, Rose! I love you.”

Oh, that is so sweet! I love flowers myself. Rose looked at Blake, Rose looked at that bicycle, and then looked at the roses. She looked back at Blake and said, “I like tulips.”

Oh, there once was a girl who had the wrong name. It was a pretty cute book; I kind of liked it. And that was “There Once Was a Bicycle.”
