Once upon a time, there was a little dump truck named Tippy. Tippy was feeling very bored and didn’t know what to do.
One day, Tippy’s dad asked, “Tippy, do you want to go out with me today?” Tippy was so excited and said, “I sure do, Dad!” They both set off on a fun adventure together.
As they drove into the forest, they saw a family of rabbits looking sad. “There was so much rain last night that our roof and playground got blown away,” said the rabbits. Tippy’s dad, Big Tipper, said, “Let me help you with those logs.” The rabbits were very happy and said, “Thank you so much!”
Next, Tippy and his dad went to a mountain. The road was blocked with dirt because of a landslide. Tippy said, “Please let me help you put the dirt on my truck. I’ll move it to a safe place.” Everyone was thankful for their help.
As they drove over the hill, they heard someone shouting for help. “Help! The bridge is about to collapse!” Tippy and his dad rushed to help. Tippy said, “Please step aside and let me help you!” Everyone was so grateful, and Tippy felt proud.
Tippy remembered the bunnies and went back to their home. He moved lots of sand and dirt to make a new playground for them. “One load, two loads,” he said. “There it is, the last load! Woohoo! It’s all done!” The bunnies were so happy and played on their new playground.
Tippy was very happy and said, “I did something good today, Dad!” His dad smiled and said, “I’m really proud of you.” Tippy felt so proud and couldn’t wait for more adventures.
And that’s how Tippy the dump truck had a fun and helpful day!
Build Your Own Playground: Gather some small toys, blocks, or recycled materials like cardboard and plastic bottles. Encourage the children to build a mini playground for toy animals or figures, just like Tippy did for the rabbits. Ask them to think about what makes a playground fun and safe. After building, discuss what they included and why.
Story Time Role Play: Invite the children to act out different parts of Tippy’s adventure. Assign roles such as Tippy, Big Tipper, the rabbits, and other characters. Encourage them to use their imagination to add dialogue and actions. After the role play, ask them how it felt to help others and what they learned from Tippy’s actions.
Helping Hands Chart: Create a chart with the children where they can draw or write about a time they helped someone, just like Tippy did. Encourage them to think about small acts of kindness they can do at home or school. Display the chart in the classroom and discuss how helping others makes everyone feel good.

“Tippy, do you want to go out with me today?” asked his dad. “I sure do, Dad!” Tippy replied, following his dad with excitement. “Move! Get out of the way, you slowpoke!” Tippy exclaimed. “Oh man, now I have mud all over me! If I weren’t so heavy, I could beat him,” he complained as he shook off the mud.

As Big Tipper and Tippy arrived in the forest, they came upon a rabbit family struggling with logs. “There was so much rain last night that our roof and playground got blown away,” said the rabbits. “Please let me help you put the logs on my truck.” “Oh, thank you so much!” the rabbits replied. Big Tipper moved all of the logs for the rabbit family.

As Big Tipper and Tippy arrived at the foot of a mountain, they found that the roads were blocked and everyone was busy trying to move the dirt. “There was a landslide last night from all of the rain,” someone explained. “Please let me help you put the dirt on my truck. I’ll move it to a safe place.” “Oh, thank you so much!” they said.
As the two trucks made it over the hill, they heard cries for help. “Help! Please help us!” Tippy and his dad rushed down to the base of the mountain. “Please, someone! The bridge is about to collapse!”
“Please step aside and let me help you!” Tippy called out. “Oh, thank you so much! You’re so cool, Dad! I want to be just like you one day and help people!”
“Now, who can I help?” Tippy wondered.
“Oh, the bunnies!” he remembered. Tippy went to the home of the rabbits. “One load, two loads,” he said as he moved all of the sand and dirt for them. “There it is, the last load! Woohoo! It’s all done!”
The bunnies were having so much fun playing on the area that Tippy had made for them. “I did something good today, Dad!” Tippy exclaimed. “I’m really proud of you,” his dad replied.

Tippy laughed, but then said, “I’m late because of you!” “Go on, at least open the window,” he added. Henry, completely startled, opened the window.
