In this lesson, we embark on an exciting morning adventure, exploring various modes of transportation and their activities as the day begins. From trains and bicycles to airplanes and fire trucks, each section highlights the unique sounds and functions of these vehicles, showcasing their importance in our daily lives. The lesson encourages engagement and curiosity about the world around us, inviting children to reflect on their favorite moments from the adventure.
  1. What did we see at the train station when the sun woke up?
  2. How do the bicycles at the playground make you feel when you ride them?
  3. What is your favorite vehicle from our morning adventure and why?

Fun Adventures Early in the Morning

Let’s go on a fun adventure and see what happens early in the morning! Are you ready? Here we go!

Choo Choo Trains at the Station

Down by the station, when the sun is just waking up, we see little trains all lined up. The engine driver pulls a handle, and the trains go “chug chug” as they start their journey. Isn’t that exciting?

Bicycles at the Playground

At the playground, early in the morning, there are bicycles all in a row. The children jump on, and with a “pedal, push, push,” they ride up and away. Riding bikes is so much fun!

Airplanes at the Airport

Down by the airport, when the day is just beginning, airplanes are ready to go. They zoom down the runway and fly up into the sky with a “zoom, whoosh.” Flying high is amazing!

Ferry Boats by the Ocean

By the ocean, early in the morning, ferry boats are lined up. The ferry captain pulls a handle, and off they go across the water. Sailing on a boat is such an adventure!

Subway Trains in the City

In the city, when the morning is fresh, subway trains are busy in the tunnels. They hurry up and down, taking people where they need to go. Riding the subway is like a speedy underground trip!

Fire Trucks Ready to Help

At the station, early in the morning, shiny red fire trucks are ready to go. They are all set to put out fires and help people. Fire trucks are heroes on wheels!

Concrete Mixers Building the City

In the city, as the day begins, concrete mixers are hard at work. They mix and pour concrete to build tall buildings. Watching them work is like seeing a big construction show!

Tractors in the Country

In the country, early in the morning, tractors are ready to plow the fields. Farmers climb in and drive off to work. Tractors help grow food for everyone!

Wasn’t that a fun morning adventure? We saw so many things and learned how they all start their day. What was your favorite part?

  • What is your favorite vehicle or machine from the morning adventure, and why do you like it the most?
  • Have you ever seen any of these vehicles or machines in real life? Where were you, and what were they doing?
  • If you could go on an adventure with any of these vehicles, which one would you choose and where would you go?
  1. Transportation Adventure Walk: Take a walk around your neighborhood or a nearby park with an adult. Look for different types of transportation like bicycles, cars, or buses. Can you spot any that were mentioned in our morning adventure? Count how many you see and talk about where they might be going. Share your findings with your friends or family!

  2. Build Your Own Vehicle: Use blocks, cardboard, or any craft materials you have at home to create your own version of a train, airplane, or ferry boat. Think about what makes each vehicle special and try to include those features in your creation. Once you’re done, explain to someone how your vehicle works and where it might travel.

  3. Morning Sounds Exploration: Close your eyes and listen carefully to the sounds around you in the morning. Do you hear any sounds like “chug chug,” “zoom whoosh,” or “pedal, push, push”? Try to guess what is making those sounds. Draw a picture of what you think is making the sound and share it with your class or family.
