Hello there! I’m Chef Jeff, and I love cooking. The kitchen is my playground, and I have so much fun with all the yummy vegetables. I peel, chop, slice, and dice them to make delicious meals. Let me show you some of my favorite veggies today!
First up is the potato. It’s simple and tasty, perfect for making fries or mashed potatoes. Next, we have the juicy red tomato. It’s round and tangy, great for salads and sauces.
Watch out for the onion! It has layers and can make you cry, but it adds lots of flavor to food. Then there’s the green cabbage with its crispy leaves. It’s crunchy and fun to eat!
Here comes the golden yellow corn, fresh from the farm. It’s sweet and delicious, especially when grilled. And look, it’s the crispy carrot with its bright orange body and green top. Carrots are great for munching!
Don’t forget the beet! It’s a deep red color and very healthy. Cauliflower is next, with its creamy white florets. It’s one of my favorites because it’s so versatile.
Now, let’s meet the peppers! They come in yellow, green, and red. They’re colorful and add a nice crunch to dishes. And look at the big orange pumpkin! It’s perfect for carving and making pies.
Mushrooms are here too, and they’re always welcome in my kitchen. Say hello to broccoli, the green veggie with little trees called florets. It’s super healthy!
Keep the vampires away with garlic! It’s a white bulb that adds a lot of flavor. Ginger is here too, ready to spice up your day. And do you remember Popeye the sailor? He loved spinach, the green leafy veggie that makes you strong!
Wow, that was a long list of vegetables! How do you like to eat your veggies? You can think about it while I get busy grilling, roasting, boiling, and steaming them. There are so many ways to enjoy vegetables!

Veggie Color Hunt: Go on a veggie color hunt in your kitchen or at the grocery store. Can you find vegetables in all the colors of the rainbow? Make a list of the colors you find and draw a picture of your favorite colorful vegetable. Talk with your family about why eating a variety of colors is good for you!
Veggie Taste Test: With the help of an adult, try tasting a small piece of each vegetable mentioned by Chef Jeff. Close your eyes and guess which vegetable you are tasting. Is it sweet, sour, crunchy, or soft? Write down your thoughts and share them with your class or family.
Grow Your Own Veggie: Plant a simple vegetable like a carrot top or a potato in a small pot. Watch it grow over the weeks and keep a diary of its progress. Draw pictures of how it changes and think about what it needs to grow big and strong, just like you!
