Welcome to Dinosaur Story Time!

Hi there, friends! Are you ready for a fun story? Today, we’re going to read “We Are the Dinosaurs” by Laurie Berkner, with pictures by Ben Clanton. Let’s dive into the world of dinosaurs!

Marching Dinosaurs

We are the dinosaurs, and we love to march! We say goodbye to our friends Ernesto and Dax as we start our adventure. Come on, Oliver, let’s march together!

March, march, march! Sasha and Floyd are joining us too. Sasha loves to march, and we hope everyone takes a little rest along the way.

Stomping and Eating

As we march, we stomp our feet and make the ground shake! Stomp, stomp, stomp! Sometimes, we stop to eat yummy food. Munch, munch, yum!

When we’re hungry, we stop and have a snack. Then, we march some more or maybe even fly or swim!

Exploring the Mountain

Look at that big mountain! Let’s explore it. Rumble, rumble, what’s that sound? Let’s find out together!

We march and march, making the earth flat with our stomping feet. Oh, look, a cave! Let’s take a peek inside.

Time to Rest

After a long day of marching, we stop to rest in our cozy nest. We take a break and listen to the rumble of the earth.

Wake up, dinosaurs! It’s time to go again. Let’s march and have more fun!

Adventures and Roars

We are the dinosaurs, and we love to splash and play. We make the earth flat with our stomps and have exciting adventures.

We slept in a cave and ran all the way down the mountain. It was so much fun! We were brave and had a great time.

And then, we roar! Why? Because we are the dinosaurs!

Thanks for Joining Us!

Did you enjoy our dinosaur story? We hope you did! Thanks for joining us for this fun adventure. See you next time for another exciting story. Bye-bye!

  • What do you think it would be like to be a dinosaur marching with your friends? Can you imagine the sounds and sights you might experience?
  • If you could explore a big mountain like the dinosaurs in the story, what would you hope to find? Would you be excited or a little scared?
  • Have you ever gone on an adventure with your family or friends? What did you do, and how did it make you feel?
  1. Dinosaur Marching Parade: Gather your friends or family members and create your own dinosaur parade! Pretend to be dinosaurs and march around your living room or backyard. Can you stomp your feet like the dinosaurs in the story? Try marching to the beat of a drum or some music. Notice how the ground feels when you stomp. Does it make a sound?

  2. Dinosaur Snack Time: Just like the dinosaurs, let’s have a snack break! Prepare some healthy snacks like fruits or veggies. As you munch, think about what kind of food dinosaurs might have eaten. Were they plant-eaters or meat-eaters? Share your thoughts with a friend or family member.

  3. Exploring and Observing: Go on a mini adventure in your backyard or a nearby park. Look for interesting rocks, leaves, or even small hills. Imagine you’re a dinosaur exploring a mountain. What sounds do you hear? Can you find a special spot to rest, just like the dinosaurs did in their cozy nest? Share your discoveries with someone and tell them about your dinosaur adventure.
