In the story, the main character thinks someone has replaced their sister with a girl who looks just like her. This new sister is much taller! Did it happen overnight? The character didn’t notice the change right away.
There were some clues. The sister started acting differently. She wasn’t interested in pretty things anymore and kept her bedroom door shut. This made the character worried.
The character decided to find out what was going on. They thought their sister’s friends might know something, but they seemed different too. Even their mom and dad seemed to be keeping secrets!
One day, the character remembered how much fun they used to have with their sister. They missed playing and laughing together.
Then, the sister found the character and invited them to listen to music together. While they were listening, the sister looked at the character and asked, “When did you become so tall?”
It was a special moment that made the character realize how much they loved their sister.
Did you like the story? It’s a sweet reminder of how special sisters are. If you have a sister, make sure to tell her how much you love her!

Height Chart Activity: Create a height chart at home to track your growth over time. Use a wall or a large piece of paper. Ask a family member to help you measure your height and mark it on the chart. Check your height every few months and see how much you’ve grown. Discuss with your family how growing taller is a natural part of life, just like the sister in the story.
Role Play with Family: Gather your family and act out a scene from the story. You can pretend to be the main character or the sister. Think about how the characters felt and what they might say to each other. After the role play, talk about how it feels to notice changes in people you love and how you can show them you care.
Memory Sharing: Sit down with your family and share a special memory you have with a sibling or a close friend. Talk about why that memory is important to you and how it makes you feel. Encourage everyone to share their memories and discuss how these moments help strengthen your relationships, just like the special moment in the story.

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the Storytime Family. How are you today? I hope you’ve been keeping well and enjoying lots of sunshine and playtime outside. Have you been reading lots of books?
Well, if you haven’t read any books today, I’m glad you’re sitting down and reading with us. We have a book called “Whatever Happened to My Sister” by Simona Cerullo. Let’s take a look at this book and see what happened to my sister, shall we?
“Whatever Happened to My Sister”
I had my suspicions for a while that someone had replaced my sister with a girl who looked a lot like her. It had to be; my sister was never so tall! Did it happen overnight? I am rather observant, yet the moment of the switch must have passed me by.
I suppose there were signs. She’d been incredibly boring on several occasions, but I guess I didn’t give it much thought. No, no, no. At least until I noticed her sense of fashion had changed. This new sister showed no interest in pretty things. It all became very odd. She began acting all secretive, even when it wasn’t close to my birthday. She developed the annoying habit of always keeping her bedroom door shut. That’s when I started to worry.
I made up my mind to see if her friends had some answers, but something wasn’t right with them either. And it wasn’t just that a lot of them were boys. I was sure my mom knew something because I saw them scheming in her bedroom. My dad must have suspected something too, but when I asked if he had noticed anything strange, he just looked at the ceiling, muttering.
One day, as I was putting together all my clues, I began to think about when my sister used to tell me everything. I remembered how we used to play and how much we laughed together, and it made me realize how much I missed her.
That’s when my sister found me and told me to come with her. She put on some music, and we listened to it together. After a while, she stopped to look at me and asked, “When did you become so tall?”
And that was “Whatever Happened to My Sister.” Did you like the story? It’s pretty special, right? Yes, sisters are very, very special. If you have a sister, remember to tell her how much you love her.
