Thank you for joining us for “When’s My Birthday?” Remember to read lots of books and have fun! See you next time. Bye-bye!

  • What is your favorite part about celebrating your birthday, and why do you think it makes you so happy?
  • If you could invite anyone to your birthday party, who would it be and what fun activities would you plan for everyone?
  • Think about a special birthday memory you have. What made it special, and how did you celebrate it?
  1. Birthday Calendar Craft: Let’s make a birthday calendar! Gather some colorful paper, markers, and stickers. Help the children create a calendar by drawing the months of the year on separate sheets of paper. Ask them to write their birthdays and the birthdays of their family members and friends on the calendar. Encourage them to decorate each month with drawings or stickers that remind them of birthdays. This activity helps children understand the concept of time and anticipation for special days.

  2. Birthday Countdown Chain: Create a countdown chain to help visualize the days until their next birthday. Provide strips of colored paper and show the children how to make a paper chain by linking the strips together. Each link represents one day. Every day, they can remove one link from the chain, getting closer to their birthday. This hands-on activity helps children practice counting and understand the passage of time.

  3. Birthday Wishes Discussion: Gather the children in a circle and ask them to share their birthday wishes. What would they like to do or receive on their special day? Encourage them to think about non-material wishes too, like spending time with family or playing their favorite game. This discussion helps children express their desires and understand the importance of both tangible and intangible gifts.
