Hello, friends! I’m your fun exercise buddy, Jack Hartmann! Are you ready to sing, move, and learn? Let’s have a great time learning the sounds of letters while we exercise!
First, let’s stretch up high to the sky! Can you reach up? Now, let’s tap our knees to the beat! Tap, tap, tap! And twist your hips, just like this! Twist, twist, twist! We’re going to workout and learn letter sounds together!
Let’s start with some letters:
Now, let’s put our hands on our shoulders for the letter I, like in insect! Hands on your waist for J, like in jet! And hands on your knees for K, like in kite! Let’s keep going with L for lion, M for monkey, N for nickel, O for octopus, and P for pumpkin!
Let’s pump our arms up for Q, like in quarter! Pump them down for R, like in rainbow! And pump one arm up for S, like in snake! Keep going with T for turtle, U for umbrella, V for violin, W for woodpecker, X like in fox, Y for yo-yo, and Z for zebra!
Stretch up high to the sky one more time! Tap your knees to the beat! Twist your hips, just like this! You did an amazing job working out to the letter sounds!
Wow, that was fun! Exercising and learning letter sounds will help you read and write better. Keep practicing, and you’ll be a letter sound superstar!
Letter Sound Scavenger Hunt: Go on a scavenger hunt around your home or classroom to find objects that start with each letter from A to Z. For example, find an apple for A, a book for B, and a cup for C. Share your findings with your friends or family and say the letter sound each object starts with.
Letter Sound Dance Party: Create a dance move for each letter sound. For example, jump for J, spin for S, and clap for C. Play some music and call out different letters. When you hear a letter, do the dance move that matches the letter sound. This will help you remember the sounds while having fun!
Sound Detective: Become a sound detective and listen carefully to the sounds around you. Can you hear the letter sounds in words people say? For example, when someone says “cat,” listen for the “c” sound. Try to find at least five words throughout the day and write them down with the letter sound you hear.
Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:
