Welcome to the Exciting World of Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum!

Have you ever wanted to go on an adventure back in time? Well, that’s exactly what Xavier Riddle and his friends do! Let’s join them on a fun journey to Wisconsin in the year 1881. It’s a bit foggy there, but don’t worry, we’re going to have lots of fun!

A Trip to the Circus

Why are we at a circus? Because circuses are full of amazing and fun things to see! There are performers who do incredible tricks, and it’s not scary at all. In fact, it’s super exciting!

Meeting Harry Houdini

Guess who we meet at the circus? It’s Harry Houdini, a famous magician! He’s going to the circus too, and he hears it’s full of wonderful surprises. Let’s go with him and see what we can find!

The Brave Performer

At the circus, we see a performer named Fearless Gene. He’s so brave that he walks on a high rope! It’s amazing to watch, but a little scary too. Would you like to be a brave performer one day? It might be a bit scary, but trying new things can be fun!

Practicing to Be Brave

Even if you’re nervous, practicing can help you become braver. Just like Houdini, who practiced a lot to become a great performer. Maybe you can start with something easy, like walking on a rope close to the ground. With practice, you can do amazing things!

Join the Adventure!

Want to see more adventures with Xavier and his friends? You can watch “Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum” on the PBS Kids video app. There are lots of exciting stories waiting for you!

Remember, trying new things and being brave can lead to wonderful adventures. So, are you ready to explore and have fun?

  • Have you ever tried something new that seemed a little scary at first? What was it, and how did you feel after you tried it?
  • If you could go back in time like Xavier and his friends, where would you want to go, and what would you like to see or do?
  • What do you think makes someone brave? Can you think of a time when you or someone you know was brave?
  1. Bravery Challenge: Create a “Bravery Chart” at home. Each time you try something new or do something that makes you a little nervous, like speaking in front of the class or trying a new food, add a sticker or draw a star on your chart. At the end of the week, count how many brave things you’ve done and share your achievements with your family or friends!

  2. Magic Trick Exploration: Just like Harry Houdini, you can learn a simple magic trick to amaze your friends and family. Ask an adult to help you find a beginner’s magic trick online or in a book. Practice it until you can perform it smoothly. Then, put on a mini magic show at home and see the smiles on everyone’s faces!

  3. Circus Performer Role Play: Gather some friends or family members and create your own circus at home. You can pretend to be different performers like jugglers, acrobats, or tightrope walkers. Use household items like pillows for juggling or a line of tape on the floor as a “tightrope.” Take turns being the audience and the performer, and have fun cheering each other on!

Here’s a sanitized version of the YouTube transcript:

[Music] Here’s a sneak peek of Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum on PBS Kids.

So this is Wisconsin in 1881. It sure is foggy! Why would the museum send us to a circus? Because they’re fun and not scary at all.

[Music] Stickers!

Oh, sorry about that. My mom says I’m always surprising people.

You okay? Try taking a deep breath to calm down; it’ll make you feel better.

[Music] Wait a minute, isn’t that… it’s him! Guys, it’s Harry Houdini!

[Music] Are you going to the circus too? I’ve never been before, but I hear it’s full of amazing things.

We are now! Great, let’s go!

I’m coming!

It’s him! Fearless Gene! He’s not going to walk across that, is he?

[Music] Whoa, talk about brave! I love the snazzy red tights!

I can’t look; he’s so high up!

Wow!

[Music] That’s what I want to do one day—be a brave performer and amaze people.

You do? But being a brave performer looks scary.

Maybe a little, but I really want to try, even if I am nervous. That’s like you, Brad, because you’re nervous to stay at the museum.

I better start practicing. Will you help me?

Sure, of course!

Okay, where’d you get the popcorn?

You can do it, Houdini! You can do it! Great job! Be careful!

Whoa!

[Music] Whoa! This might take a while. Maybe we should try something a little easier first.

Let’s try this rope.

Whoa! Much better!

Whoa!

[Music] Bro, are you coming?

Now this I can handle!

Whoa!
