Good morning, everyone! Today, we’re going to join Zack and his friends on an exciting adventure. Are you ready? Let’s go!
Zack meets his friend Axel, who is getting ready for a big race called the Great Derby Town Circle Race. It’s a race where cars zoom around a big circle track. But oh no! Dark clouds are coming, and it might rain!
Zack loves the rain because it makes everything muddy, and trucks like him can drive through the mud easily. But Axel, who is a racer, doesn’t like the rain because it makes the track slippery and hard to race on.
To keep the track dry, Zack and Axel decide to build a tent. They ask their friend Mika for help. Mika finds a big piece of canvas to cover the track, but they need something to hold it up like a roof.
With teamwork, they find a big stick to lift the tent above the track. They pull and push together, and finally, the tent is up! Now the track is safe from the rain.
Later, Zack and Mika meet Bob the Boat, who had trouble finding his way home in the dark. They decide to build a lighthouse to help Bob see at night.
They try different ways to shine the light from the lighthouse. First, they shine it at Bob, but it’s too bright. Then, they shine it at Bob’s boathouse, and it works perfectly! Now Bob can find his way home safely.
After all the hard work, Zack and his friends play a fun game of hide and seek. They take turns hiding and finding each other, laughing and having a great time.
Would you like to play hide and seek with Zack and his friends? It’s a fun game where you can hide and see if your friends can find you. Remember, teamwork and trying again can solve any problem, just like Zack and his friends did!
Thanks for joining us on this adventure. See you next time!
Build Your Own Tent: Just like Zack and his friends, you can build a small tent at home! Use a blanket or a large piece of cloth and some chairs or a table to create a tent. Ask an adult to help you. Once your tent is ready, pretend it’s raining outside and you’re keeping your toys dry inside. How does it feel to work together to build something?
Rainy Day Race: Create a small race track using toy cars and a circular track made from string or tape on the floor. Sprinkle a little water on the track to make it “rainy.” Try racing the cars on the wet track. What happens? Is it harder or easier to race? Talk about how rain changes the way things move.
Light the Way: Use a flashlight to create your own lighthouse at home. Turn off the lights in a room and use the flashlight to guide a toy boat (or any small toy) to a “home” spot. Try shining the light in different directions. Which way helps the toy find its way home the best? Discuss why light is important for finding your way in the dark.
Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:

Good morning, Zack! How are you?
Burning Spike: Good, thanks!
Zack: What are you doing, Axel?
Axel: Oh, hey, Zack! Me and the other racers are preparing for the Great Derby Town Circle Race.
Zack: Oh, the Great Derby Town Circle Race? That sounds fun! What is it?
Axel: Well, it’s something amazing! Check it out—we had the construction Zerbies make this track. See? It’s a big circle! The other racers and I are going to race around and around on this track.
Zack: Oh, that’s so good! How do you know who wins?
Axel: Well, usually it’s the last one to get dizzy!
Zack: Wow, that sounds amazing! I can’t wait to watch it!
Axel: We’ll just finish a few more test laps on the track. Oh, hey, what’s going on?
Zack: What do you mean?
Axel: It’s getting darker. Do you see that?
Zack: Oh, yeah!
Axel: Oh, look at those clouds!
Zack: Hey, those clouds look like rain clouds! That means it’s going to rain.
Axel: Dark clouds don’t always mean it’s going to rain.
Zack: Good! I hope it doesn’t.
Axel: Why not?
Zack: I love the rain! It makes everything muddy!
Axel: Yeah, but you’re a truck. Trucks don’t mind the rain because you have big wheels that help you get through the mud. But racers like me, well, we’re not built for the rain and mud.
Zack: Oh, yeah. I like it when it’s dry, and now the track that we spent all day on is going to get muddy and washed away.
Axel: Wait, why don’t we try again and see if there’s a way to keep your track dry?
Zack: Really? Well, that would be great, but it’s awfully big. How are we going to cover it all?
Axel: Maybe a tent?
Zack: Yeah, a tent! Uh, how are we going to make a tent?
Axel: I don’t know, but I bet Mika could tell us!
Zack: Oh, yeah! Let’s ask Mika. She knows all about that kind of stuff. Ready, set, turn! Let’s go!
Axel: Hey, Axel!
Zack: Oh, yeah! Why are we going this way?
Axel: To make it short!
Zack: But what do you mean?
Axel: Well, this is the long way.
Zack: I know! That’s why we’re taking it—because it’s fun to race!
Axel: Oh, yeah!
[Music]
Zack: Come on, let’s go faster!
Axel: Faster, Zack! Come on!
Zack: I don’t know if I can go faster!
Axel: Actually, you gotta slow down a bit.
Zack: Okay, okay! How’s that?
Axel: Okay, okay!
Zack: Hey, Mika! What are you doing?
Mika: I’m just putting some things into my garage.
Zack: It looks like rain!
Mika: Yeah, I know! We’ve got a whole racetrack that we need to keep dry. Do you think you can put a tent over it?
Mika: Hmm, let’s see. I think I have a large piece of canvas in here somewhere. Let me check.
Mika: No, that’s not it. Where did I put it? Oh, wait! Yeah, this will work! Let me just pull it out. Here we go!
Zack: What do you think?
Mika: Wow, it’s huge!
Zack: Really huge!
Mika: That will cover the track for sure!
Zack: Absolutely!
Mika: All right, is this the track you want to cover, Axel?
Axel: Yeah!
Mika: Okay, all I have to do is pull the canvas across the racetrack, and it’ll be safe from the rain.
Zack: Oh, here we go! Just a little bit more, and… okay!
Mika: There! Oh, we did it!
Axel: Yeah, Zack! I’m not sure this worked. It’ll be safe from the rain, but it’s lying right on top of everything, including the track.
Zack: Oh, yeah! The tent is right on top of the track, so there’s no room for derbies to race underneath it!
Mika: Exactly! I think we need to try again.
Axel: Are we trying again?
Mika: Yeah! I think we need something to lift our tent above the racetrack so it’s not lying right on top of it, like a big stick. If we put it up in the middle, then it’ll hold the canvas up like a roof!
Axel: Oh, that’s a great idea, Mika!
Mika: Yeah, let’s go get one!
Zack: Great! Um, how do we get out of here?
Mika: All set out here, Zack!
Zack: So, what are we doing?
Mika: Okay, Mika’s gonna pull, and we’re gonna push, and together we’ll get this stick to stand up!
Zack: Oh, okay! Ready, set, turbo!
Mika: Aha! Look, it worked!
Zack: Oh, but not that well. There’s a little space on the track in the middle, but the tent is still on the ground.
Mika: How’s it going in there, Zerbies?
Axel: Oh, it looks like there’s just not enough room in here, even with the stick.
Mika: It looks like we’re gonna have to try again.
Zack: Hey, what’s going on? The tent is getting bigger!
Mika: What is going on? What are you Zerbies saying? I can’t hear you!
Zack: Wait a second! Look at that! There’s a lot more room!
Mika: Yeah, look at that! How did that happen?
Zack: I don’t know! It just opened right up!
Mika: What are you doing out there, Mika?
Mika: I’m just pulling the edge of the tent!
Zack: Hey, I think that’s the answer! Come on, let’s try again!
Mika: Yeah, let’s go!
Zack: Okay, come on, guys! Let’s do this before it rains!
Mika: Okay, ready?
Zack: There we go! Okay, I’m pulling as much as I can!
Mika: I think I’m pulling as much as I can too!
Axel: Hold it tight, Axel! You too, Max!
Mika: I’m trying!
Zack: All right, that should do it! Let me just throw a stake in the corner here, and I’ll tie it off.
Mika: All right, my side is good! I’ll tie your sides down too!
Zack: Yeah, we did it!
Mika: Well, I think this tent is great!
Zack: Yeah! Who knew making a tent would be so easy once we try again?
Mika: This tent deserves it! Now the track won’t get wet when it rains!
Zack: Hey, where did the clouds go?
Mika: I don’t know, but it doesn’t look like rain anymore.
Zack: Ah, too bad! Should we take the tent down?
Mika: Oh, are you kidding? The tent is great! I think we should leave it up always!
Zack: Yeah!
[Music]
Zack: All right, guys, come on! All right, let’s drive around!
Mika: Yeah! Which way do we start the circle, Axel?
[Music]
Zack: I love driving in the morning!
Mika: It’s really early, isn’t it, Lily?
Lily: Yeah, it is!
Zack: Well, let’s go this way to the lake!
Mika: I’m here!
Zack: Okay, I think we should go see Bob the Boat!
Mika: Sure!
Zack: Okay!
Mika: Yeah! I love driving in the morning! It’s so beautiful this time of day!
Zack: Yeah! Oh, hey, look! There’s Bob over there!
Mika: Oh, yeah! There he is! Hey, Bob! What are you doing here?
Zack: Oh, he’s sleeping!
Mika: Why would Bob be sleeping on the beach instead of in his boathouse?
Zack: Yeah, he usually sleeps in his boathouse at night, right?
Mika: Yeah!
Zack: So why is he sleeping here?
Mika: I don’t know! We should ask him!
Zack: Bye! Wake up!
[Music]
Zack: Good morning, Zerbies! Sorry to wake you, Bob, but why did you sleep on the beach last night?
Bob: Oh, I ran aground last night while looking for my boathouse. There was no boat, and I couldn’t see where I was going. It was just too dark!
Zack: It’s always dark at night!
Bob: Yes, and I try to get home before it’s too dark, but last night I was lying in the lily pads listening to the frogs sing a beautiful lullaby.
Mika: Well, you should always be able to find your way home, dark or light!
Bob: Absolutely! You know, I’m sure if we tried, we could solve this problem for you!
Zack: Really? I think the construction derbies could build something that will help you see your way at night!
Bob: Yeah?
Zack: That means I could stay out till the end of the lullaby and still get home safely!
Mika: Don’t worry, Bob! We’ll go talk to Mika right now! Ready, set…
Mika: Wow, that is a problem! I think a lighthouse is the way to go! Lighthouses are made to help boats at night!
Zack: A lighthouse? Well, that should make seeing things a whole lot easier! Let’s do it!
Mika: Yeah, let’s do it!
Bob: Keep coming, Rex! Keep coming! Okay, and stop there! All right, there you go!
Zack: Wow, look at that lighthouse! It’s amazing!
Mika: Let me hook on, and we’ll see if we can get it pulled up!
[Music]
Mika: And… there! How’s that look, Bob?
Bob: Oh, yeah! That’s a great spot for it! I can’t wait to see it at night!
Mika: Me neither! It looks great there!
Zack: Yeah! Well, there you are, Bob! The lighthouse is set up and ready to go!
Bob: Thanks so much, Zerbies! Good luck with it!
Mika: All right, Rex! Let’s get back to the construction site!
Zack: Oh, yeah! See you later, Zerbies! Bye, Strike! Bye-bye, Rex! See you later!
Mika: You’re one amazing idea, Derby!
Bob: Thank you! I can’t wait till it gets dark so I can try it!
[Music]
Bob: Oh, come on! Hurry up, sun! Get to bed! Nighty night!
Mika: Oh, I know! I have a great idea! I’ll go out a bit into the bay and get ready!
Bob: Good idea!
Mika: Oh, come on! Go down, sun!
Bob: We should go back to the lighthouse!
Mika: Come on!
Bob: Okay, okay!
Mika: Oh boy, it really takes a long time, doesn’t it? Still, it’s very beautiful looking at it!
Bob: Oh, it’s almost down! Are you Zerbies ready?
Mika: Yeah, we’re almost there, Bob!
Bob: Oh, it’s setting! The sun is setting!
Mika: It’s okay! We’re ready!
Bob: And there it goes!
Mika: Okay! All right, Bob! I’m just gonna turn on the lighthouse now!
Bob: Okay!
Mika: There! We have light!
Bob: Hey! I can see it! I can see the light!
Mika: Yeah! Here I come! Headed straight for my boathouse! I’ll be home in a minute!
Bob: Oh, are you okay?
Mika: I’m okay, but this is not my boathouse!
Bob: Well, that didn’t work!
Mika: Nope! Tell me what went wrong, Bob!
Bob: Well, I can see the bush the lighthouse is shining its light on, but I can only see the bush! It’s dark everywhere else!
Mika: Hmm, I guess we should try again! But what should we do differently?
Bob: I think we should point the light somewhere else!
Mika: Yeah, it’s not the bushes that need the light; it’s me!
Zack: Hey, there’s an idea! Why don’t we point the light at Bob?
Bob: At me?
Zack: Well, you’re the one that needs the light, right? So if we shine it right at you, then maybe you’ll see everything!
Bob: Sure! Why don’t we give that a shot?
Mika: Okay, let’s do it!
Zack: All right, let’s go back to the lighthouse!
Mika: I’ll head out into the bay!
Zack: All right, let’s just try it again!
Mika: I’ll just turn the light and aim right at you!
Zack: There! How’s that, Bob?
Bob: Wow! It’s really bright, Mika! It’s fantastic! I can see the light really well from here!
Mika: Okay, I’m gonna give it a try driving towards my boathouse!
Bob: Well, I really can’t see anything but the light, but I think I can make it! Here we go!
Mika: Uh-oh!
Bob: Oh dear! Oh, I guess that didn’t work!
Mika: What happened that time, Bob?
Bob: I couldn’t see anything with the light! Looks like we’ll have to try again!
Mika: All right! What if this time we shine the light at the thing Bob needs to see—his boathouse?
Zack: Oh, okay! Sure! Let’s try that!
Mika: Let me just move the joystick and get the light aimed right at your boathouse, Bob!
Zack: There! How’s that?
Bob: Well, that’s amazing! I can really see the boathouse from way out here! I’m gonna give it a try!
Mika: Okay! Driving forward! Drive it straight for it!
Bob: You’re doing great!
Mika: Yeah! This is actually pretty easy! I can totally see where I’m going! I can even go right in here!
Bob: That place is perfect for finding my way home again! I love it, Mika!
Mika: There’s just one tiny problem!
Bob: There is a problem?
Mika: Well, just a little one! Can we turn the lighthouse off when I’m home? It’s awfully hard to sleep with all that light coming in through the window!
Bob: You got it!
Mika: Oh, thanks, Zerbies! Good night!
Zack: I think I have right away at a green buoy!
Mika: I think all that driving and getting beats really tired Bob out!
Zack: I’m kind of tired myself!
Mika: Well, come on! Let’s go back to Derby Town!
Zack: Oh, okay! Let’s go this way!
Mika: Yeah, I’m gonna go this way!
Zack: Coming, Mika!
Mika: Coming!
Zack: No problem! You just go right ahead!
Mika: No, okay! I’ll go ahead, and you go!
[Music]
Zack: Seven, eight, nine, ten! Ready or not, here I come!
Mika: I’m gonna find you, Zack! I’m gonna find you!
[Music]
Zack: I know you’re here somewhere, Zack! I’m gonna find you!
Mika: Hey, wait a minute!
[Music]
Zack: How did you find me?
Mika: I can hear you laughing!
Zack: Oh, it’s so hard not to laugh!
Mika: Okay, my turn to hide!
Zack: Oh, okay! I’ll go count! But remember, I know all your good hiding spots!
Mika: Yeah!
Zack: Okay, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven…
Mika: That’s not fair!
Zack: Okay, okay! I’ll start again! Here we go! One…
Mika: Oh, come on! There’s gotta be a good spot to hide in here somewhere!
Mika: Hi, Lily!
Lily: Oh, Sandy! I’m playing hide and seek with Zack! I gotta hide!
Mika: Oh, I know! Okay, stay right here!
Mika: Six, seven…
Lily: Oh, I get it! You’ll cover me with brush so Zack can’t see me!
Mika: Exactly! Do you think you can finish before Zack gets here?
Lily: I think so!
Mika: Yeah!
Zack: Where do you know? Here I come!
Mika: Let’s see!
Zack: No, not over there!
Mika: Hey, Sandy and I are playing hide and seek! Have you seen her?
Zack: Uh-oh! I haven’t seen her! Maybe you should check over there!
Mika: Okay, thanks!
Zack: Is he gone?
Mika: Yep!
Zack: Oh, this is a great hiding spot, Sandy!
Mika: No, she wasn’t over there!
Zack: Hey! I see you, Lily!
Mika: Ha-ha! Sandy hit me!
Zack: That’s not bad, Sandy!
Mika: Thanks! Can I hide next?
Zack: I would love to play hide and seek with you, Zerbies!
Mika: Sure!
