Our Zerby friends wanted to build the best jump ever! They tried to make a ramp that could jump over a puddle and a tree branch. They tried different shapes: long and low, short and steep, and finally, one that was just right. It was so exciting when they finally made the perfect jump!

Spin Like a Zerby!
Find a safe open space and try spinning in circles like the Zerbies. Notice how you feel when you spin fast or slow. Can you spin in a circle while holding hands with a friend? Talk about how spinning makes you feel and what you see when you spin.
Build Your Own Jump
Using blocks, books, or other safe materials, try to build a ramp for a toy car. Experiment with different shapes and heights. Which ramp makes the car jump the farthest? Share your ramp designs with a friend and see if they can make their car jump too!
Maze Master
Create a simple maze using pillows or toys on the floor. Try to find your way through the maze. Can you remember the path you took? Ask a friend to try your maze and see if they can find the way out. Talk about what was tricky and how you solved it.

Well, this jump lets you go really far, right?

Okay, now check the other jump. See how the shape is really different? Instead of long and low, it’s short and really steep.
So what if we build something that was in between the two shapes?
