Hey there, little friend! Are you ready for a fun story about some cool cars called Zerbies? Let’s go on an adventure with them!
One sunny morning, our friends Zach and Chase were chatting. Chase told everyone that the construction Zerbies had finished digging something called a “bowl.” Zach and his friends were curious. “Is it like a cereal bowl?” they wondered. So, they decided to find out!
When they got there, they saw a big, round hole in the ground. It looked like a bowl, but much bigger! The Zerbies thought it would be fun to drive around in it. Axel, one of the Zerbies, zoomed around the bowl, and everyone cheered!
All the Zerbies wanted to try driving in the bowl. But when they all went in together, they got stuck! Oh no! How would they get out?
Axel had an idea. He said, “Let’s line up and push each other out!” So, they all got in a line and pushed. But it was still hard to get out. Then, Lily had a clever idea. “Let’s go round and round to get faster, then zoom out!” And guess what? It worked! They all got out of the bowl, and it was so much fun!
One day, it started raining. The Zerbies noticed water rushing down the hill, making a stream. The water was washing away the road! They needed to stop it, so they called the construction Zerbies for help.
The Zerbies decided to build a dam to stop the water. They worked together, moving dirt to make a big pit to catch the water. But the water kept coming! So, they thought of a new plan. They moved the water to a different place where it wouldn’t cause trouble. Hooray! The Zerbies saved the day!
Later, Zach and Rex found a big log in the sand pit. They wanted to drive on top of it. But the log was too tall! What could they do?
They decided to build a ramp using sand. Strut, the big construction Zerbie, helped them pile up the sand. But the sand kept falling down. Then, Walter had a great idea. He sprayed water on the sand to make it stick together. Now the ramp was strong!
Zach tried the ramp first. He zoomed up and made it to the top of the log! Rex followed, and they both had a great view of the sand pit. What a fun day!
The Zerbies learned that working together and trying new ideas can solve problems. They had lots of fun building, playing, and exploring. Just like the Zerbies, you can have fun learning and trying new things too!

Build Your Own Bowl: Gather some playdough or clay and create your own “bowl” like the Zerbies found. Once you’ve made your bowl, use small toy cars to drive around it. Can you make the cars go faster or slower? Try to see if you can make them go round and round without getting stuck. What happens if you add a little ramp to your bowl? Experiment and see what fun adventures your cars can have!
Water Flow Experiment: Just like the Zerbies, you can explore how water moves. Use a tray and some sand or dirt to create a small hill. Pour water from a cup and watch how it flows down the hill. Can you build a small dam to stop the water, or a channel to change its direction? What happens when you change the shape of the hill or the path of the water? Try different ideas and see what works best!
Teamwork Challenge: Gather a few friends or family members and try a fun teamwork activity. Find a small object that you can push or pull, like a toy car or a ball. Work together to move it from one side of the room to the other without using your hands. Can you use your feet, elbows, or even your heads? Just like the Zerbies, think of creative ways to solve the challenge and see how teamwork makes it easier!

You know, I bet it would be fun to drive! You think so? Yeah, watch this!
All right, Axel, that was great! Totally! I didn’t see it! Hey Zach, Rex, did you see that? That was amazing! Axel, do it again! All right, here we go! Did you see how far? Yes, I did! [Music] What is it, Lily? There was never a stream here before! Oh yeah, look at that! That’s fun! Let’s go to the top of the hill! Oh, okay, this way! Come on, it’s over this way! Oh great! Oh look, this is where the water’s coming from! It looks like a new stream! It must be caused by all the rain! Look, there it goes right through town! It’s washing all the road away! Hey, there’s water in my parking spot! We’ve got to find a way to stop this water, and fast! Let’s get the construction Zerbies! Okay, let’s go!
Okay, so we have to stop the water from running down the hill! I know! Let’s just put something in the way so it doesn’t go over the edge! Oh, that’s a great idea, Sandy! Uh, how about some dirt? Yeah, good thinking! Come on, let’s go! Okay, I’m going to move some dirt over here, and then you guys can move some dirt over there! Hold me up! Some… there you go! Okay, the back, Rex, and dump!
[Music] Dumping! Awesome! That’ll stop the water! Okay, so wait, hang on! It doesn’t seem to be stopping! It isn’t? Hey, look! Now the water’s just going around the dirt! What if I put some more dirt down? I bet the water would just go around that dirt too! I guess just putting some dirt in the way isn’t the answer! Looks like we need to try… try what? What should we try next? We could… um… go on Phil! Well, what if we built it bigger? We’re kind of building a dam, right? We could dig down and give the water somewhere to collect! We’re great at digging! Let’s dig a great big pit! All right, yeah, let’s do it! But we can’t build it if the water keeps pouring in! Don’t worry about that! Zach and I will figure something out!
First, we’ll have to block the water from going where they’re working! Um, okay! Uh, Lily, help me push this rock! Okay, okay! [Music] Ready? There! That will push the water over the side a bit, so it’s not coming down where they’re working! All right, let’s go see how they’re doing! Yeah, hey, I think we almost got this problem figured out! Come on! Okay, put some over here, one there! I’ve got… need any more dirt?
Cuz I can… amazing! Ta-da! A dam! I don’t get it! How will this work? Well, see, the water will come down here, right? Yeah, but now instead of pouring down the hill, it will fill up the big pit we’ve dug! Oh, this is a great pit! It’s bigger than me! Oh, I get it! So it kind of holds the water so it won’t pour down the hill! Exactly! I’ll go move the rock so the water will come down this way again! Okay, now to just push this rock out of the way! Here, almost on there! Okay, here comes the water! We did it! It’s stopping the water from going into town! It’s working great! Yay, let’s celebrate!
Uh, hold on a second! What’s wrong, Zach? The dam works, but the water’s filling it up fast! Oh yeah, it looks pretty full! Uh, what happens when it gets to the top? It spills over and the dam breaks, and a ton of water washes over Zerby Town! Let’s go look for answers! Excuse me! Okay, let’s see what we got! Oh, leaves! No, this won’t work! Moving on! Hey, hey, what’s up here? Moss? That might… no, I don’t think moss is going to solve the problem! Well, let’s go see what’s over here! Let’s see! Oh, it’s a stream again! Now I can’t use that!
Oh, wait a minute! The stream! Rex, Lily, come quick! Huh? What’s going on? Yeah, what’s up, Zach? Remember when we moved the rock in the way of the water? Yeah! Well, when we did that, the water didn’t go down this part of the hill! It kind of went down over here! I don’t get it! Why? Why don’t we build something to move the water even farther so it washes way over there where it won’t go through town? Wow, that’s a great idea! Hey, I’ll get some dirt! Do you think moving the water will be easier than trying to hold the water in a dam? I don’t know, but I think so!
Okay, here comes the first load! Dumping! There! Great! A few more loads and it just might work! There we go! We did it! Yay! All right! Now instead of going straight down the hill, the water’s washing over there, away from town! Well, I guess I’ll just have to park in water from now on! Oh, hey, it stopped! What do we do with this dam? Well, now that the water’s going somewhere else, it should be just fine! Yeah, but what do we do with it? Oh, I think we should play in it! Turbo!
Hey, I fit in here perfectly! You guys should be small! Got to move, buddy! You okay? There! Now it’s your turn! I can’t still get in! Guys, you’re still… I’m staying! I’m staying for a while! Anyway, guys, I’m… [Music]
Build, play! Yes, sir! Go look at me! I’m all right! That was fun! Yeah, so what do you want to do today, Rex? I don’t know, Zach! What do you want to do? Um, you want to go to the sand pit? Sure! That sounds like a great idea! All right, I’ll race you there! Tag! Oh, I’m it! I’ll get you!

Are we building something? I hope we’re building something! Yeah, we want to get to the top of this log, so we’re going to pile a bunch of sand right here and make it into a ramp! Let’s build! Yay!

And release! It isn’t staying together very well! Here, let me try! We just need to shape this part here to push it up the… uh, it’s not working! You’re right! No matter how we try to shape it into a ramp, the sand just keeps falling back down! Well, then we need to try… try again! If we can’t change the shape of this sand pile, then we have to make it big enough to reach the top of the log on its own! More sand! Good thing it’s so fun to move!
