Hello, Reading Friends!

Hi there! I’m Ani, and I’m so happy you’re here to read with me today. We have a special story about how wonderful our mamas are. It’s called “My Mama.” If you have the book, you can read along with me!

Let’s Read “My Mama”

The book “My Mama” is written by Pragya Tomar and illustrated by Julia Ikokun. It’s all about the love between a mama and her little baby.

I’m mama’s little baby. She loves to hold me tight. She gives me hugs and kisses and tickles me just right. My mama is like sunshine; she makes me smile every day. When I need a cuddle, she holds me close and makes everything okay.

I love telling my mama how much I love her. I feel so lucky to have her as my mom. I’m mama’s little darling, and she keeps me safe and warm with her love.

When it’s time to sleep, mama wraps me in a cozy blanket. She sings a sweet song that helps me drift off to dreamland. Her voice is soft and kind, and it makes me feel so happy.

Out of all the special things in life, my mama’s love is the best gift of all!

  • If you could plan a perfect day with your mama or caregiver, what would you do? Why would you choose those activities?
  1. Draw Your Mama: Take a piece of paper and some crayons or colored pencils. Draw a picture of your mama doing something special with you, like giving you a hug or reading a book together. Think about how it makes you feel when you’re with her. After you finish your drawing, share it with the class and tell everyone why your mama is special to you.

  2. Love Jar Activity: Find a small jar or container and decorate it with stickers or drawings. Each day, write or draw something you love about your mama on a small piece of paper and put it in the jar. At the end of the week, share some of the notes with your mama to show her how much you appreciate her.
