Hello, my amazing reading friends! It’s Ani here. Welcome to my cozy house! Are you ready for a fun story? Do you love adventures? Today, we’re going to meet an explorer who’s searching for a very special creature. Let’s find out if he can discover it as we read “Jasper and the Yeti.” If you have the book, grab it so you can read along with me!
Jasper McPhee is the youngest member of the Royal Explorers Club. He is very brave! Once, he floated down the Amazon River on a crocodile’s back, and another time, he found a Pharaoh’s tomb full of treasures. So, when Jasper decided he wanted to see a Yeti, everyone knew it would be an exciting adventure!
People say the Yeti lives in the Himalayan mountains, so that’s where Jasper went. The mountain guides told him about a secret place where a Yeti might be. Jasper hiked and hiked and hiked. The wind was so strong that it blew off his glasses, and he couldn’t find them anywhere. Oh no! Jasper needs his glasses to see clearly, so instead of seeing things as they are, he saw them all mixed up.
Jasper kept hiking. He crossed over what he thought was a furry white bridge and rested on what seemed like a soft, fluffy rock. He even took a photo of what he believed was a tall, shaggy tree. The cold wind came back, and it started to snow. Luckily, Jasper found a place to stay warm. Even though he hadn’t seen a Yeti, Jasper was happy he visited the Himalayas.
After the wind stopped, Jasper took one last photo of the beautiful mountains. As he put his camera away, he found his glasses; they had been in his backpack all along! Then Jasper hiked and hiked until he got home. When he looked at the photographs from his camera, he finally saw the Yeti!
Even though Jasper didn’t see the Yeti with his own eyes while he was in the mountains, he had proof that he found one in his photos. I hope you enjoyed our story today! See you next time for another adventure!
Yeti Footprint Hunt: Create your own Yeti footprints using paper and crayons. Draw large footprints and cut them out. With the help of an adult, hide them around your house or yard. Pretend you are an explorer like Jasper and search for the Yeti by finding all the footprints. How many can you find? Can you create a story about where the Yeti might be hiding?
Adventure Journal: Just like Jasper, you can be an explorer too! Start your own adventure journal. Draw or write about a place you would like to explore. What special creature might you find there? Use your imagination to describe what it looks like and what it might eat. Share your adventure with a friend or family member.
Observation Challenge: Go on a nature walk with an adult and bring a notebook. Try to find things that look different from far away and up close, just like Jasper did without his glasses. Draw or write about what you see. How do things change when you look at them from different distances? Discuss your findings with your family.

Jasper McPhee is the youngest member of the Royal Explorers Club. He once floated down the Amazon River on the back of a crocodile, and another time he discovered a Pharaoh’s tomb full of treasures. So when Jasper decided he wanted to see a Yeti, you knew it was going to be an adventure!
According to legend, the Yeti lives in the Himalayan mountains, so that’s where Jasper went. The mountain guides told him about a secret place where a Yeti lived. Jasper hiked and hiked and hiked. The wind blew so hard it knocked off his glasses, and he couldn’t find them anywhere. Uh-oh! Jasper needs his glasses to see clearly, so instead of seeing this, Jasper saw this.
Jasper hiked and hiked and hiked. He crossed over a furry white bridge and rested on a soft, fluffy rock. He took a photo of a tall, shaggy tree. The cold wind returned, and it began to snow. Luckily, Jasper found shelter. Although he hadn’t seen a Yeti, Jasper was happy he had visited the Himalayas.
After the wind stopped, Jasper took one final photo of the beautiful scenery. As he put his camera away, Jasper found his glasses; they must have been in his pack all along. Then Jasper hiked and hiked until he got home. Jasper got the photographs from his camera, and he finally saw the Yeti!
The end. Even though he didn’t get to see it with his own eyes while he was in the Himalayan mountains, Jasper had proof that he found a Yeti. I hope you enjoyed our story today! See you next time!
