Hi there! Today, we’re going to have lots of fun with a story called “Santa’s Stuck.” Are you ready? Let’s go!
Once upon a time, it was Christmas Eve, and Santa was getting ready to deliver presents to all the good boys and girls. The toys were ready, the Christmas tree lights were shining, and the stockings were hanging in a row. Santa said, “It’s time to go!”
Before leaving, Santa saw a note and some yummy snacks. The note said, “Dear Santa, we have been very good boys and girls.” Santa thought, “One more cookie couldn’t hurt.” So, he ate the cookie and some other tasty treats. Yum, yum!
After eating, Santa’s belly got bigger, and when he tried to go up the chimney, he got stuck! Oh no! Santa whispered, “Oh, I’m stuck!”
A brave dog saw Santa’s boots kicking in the air and tried to help. The reindeer outside heard Santa’s call and came to help too. They all pulled together, but Santa was still stuck!
Then, a mama cat and her kittens came to help. They all pushed and pulled, but Santa was still stuck. Finally, a tiny mouse came out of his house to lend a hand. Everyone pushed and pulled with all their might.
With one big push, Santa popped out of the chimney! Hooray! The reindeer got ready, and Santa jumped into his sleigh. He waved goodbye and shouted, “Merry Christmas and good night!”
We hope you enjoyed the story of “Santa’s Stuck.” Remember, you can always come back for more fun stories. See you next time!
Chimney Escape Experiment: Let’s pretend to be Santa! Use a cardboard box or a large piece of paper to create a “chimney.” Have the children take turns pretending to be Santa and try to “escape” from the chimney. Discuss what might make it easier or harder for Santa to get unstuck. Ask them, “What can we do to help Santa get out faster?” Encourage them to think about teamwork and problem-solving.
Snack Time Math: Just like Santa enjoyed some snacks, let’s have a snack time of our own! Give each child a small number of cookies or crackers. Ask them to count how many they have and then share with a friend. How many do they have now? This activity helps with basic math skills and sharing. Ask them, “If Santa eats too many cookies, what might happen?” to connect back to the story.
Animal Helpers Role Play: In the story, different animals helped Santa. Let’s pretend to be those animals! Assign roles like the dog, reindeer, cat, kittens, and mouse. Have the children act out how they would help Santa get unstuck. Discuss how each animal might help in a different way. Ask them, “Why is it important to help each other?” to encourage empathy and teamwork.
Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:

Toys are nestled, tree lights glow, stockings stuffed, march in a row. Santa sighs, “It’s time to go.” He gathers up his giant sack, spies a note and Christmas snack.
“Dear Santa, we have been very good boys and girls. They love sweets for him to find.” Hmm, his suit feels rather snug. He shrugs a jolly shrug. “One more cookie couldn’t hurt. This last snack will be dessert.”
Santa rests his weary feet, munches on the scrumptious treat. Nibble, nibble, tasty crumbs, lick the frosting from his thumbs. Smacks his lips on fruitcake—what’s the whole thing? Chomp, chomp, chew chocolate fudge. He sneaks a piece, can’t resist. He has a feast—a lot of food. Yum, yum, mmm!
Belly bulges. Santa stops. Uh-oh, look, a button pops! Restless reindeer, cold wind blows up the chimney. Santa goes. Suddenly, a sound is heard: rap, tap, tap, and one wee word—hello!
Little ones tucked in their beds, candy cane dreams in their heads. Slumber on, don’t hear a peep, but a dog bolts up right from his sleep. He bravely pats down the stairs, sees boots kicking in the air. Santa whispers, “Oh, I’m stuck!”
The dog helps push with all his might—no luck. Santa’s sack, meanwhile, reindeer heed the plea. Form a chain, then pull on three. “I’m stuck tight! One, two, three!”
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph—they all heave-ho as one. The dog pushes down below—no luck, Santa’s stuck!
Mama cat wakes from her nap. “Here’s help!” And rap, tap, tap, sees that Santa’s in a fix. Calls her kittens, one through six. “Meow, get some milk!”
Reindeer, dog, kittens, cat—pull like this, push like that—no luck, Santa’s stuck!
Oh ho ho, a tiny mouse stirs inside his tiny house, campers out to lend a hand. Santa gives the go command: push, push, push!

Woosh! Santa’s out! A silent cheer. Reindeer harness up their gear. Back inside his Christmas sleigh, Santa shouts, “Now—away!” Then he waves and soars from sight. Merry Christmas and good night!
