???? Check Out My Mail with Me! I Get the BEST MAIL from MY READING Friends!!

Hello, my reading friends! It’s Annie, and today I want to share some special mail I got from my friends who love reading just like me. Let’s see what they sent!

Calvin’s Cool Cutout

The first mail is from Calvin in Dennisport, Massachusetts. He sent me a super cool cutout and a lovely picture. Thank you so much, Calvin!

Ellie’s Beautiful Picture

Next, I got a letter from Ellie in Kennesaw, Georgia. She made a beautiful picture and wrote me a nice note. Thank you, Ellie! I also love the other pretty picture on the back.

Lucy’s Rainbow Fish

This one is from Lucy in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She wrote me a sweet note and drew a picture of Rainbow Fish, her favorite book. Thank you, Lucy! It’s a beautiful picture.

Gonzalez Family’s Kind Words

Then, I received a letter from the Gonzalez family. Thank you so much for your kind words!

Faith’s Fun Drawing

Faith sent me some wonderful pictures and notes. I think that’s me in her drawing, along with some of my stuffed animals, and she drew a heart. I love it so much!

Grace’s Nightly Reading

This one is from Grace, who says they read with me every night. She drew a picture of me and my bookshelf, along with some stuffed animals that look just like mine. Thank you, Grace!

Deacon’s Forks Adventure

Lastly, I got a book from Deacon Golden at DIS Air Force Base in Texas. He made a book called “Two Forks Eating,” and on every page, the two forks are eating something different! They’re enjoying a carrot, blueberries, a banana split with ice cream, black beans, an apple, cantaloupe, and last but not least, spaghetti and meatballs. I love it!

Thank you so much, everyone, for your letters, cards, and pictures. I cherish them all. See you next time!

  • What kinds of things do you like to receive in the mail, and why do they make you happy?
  • If you could send a letter or drawing to someone special, who would it be and what would you include in it?
  • Have you ever made a special drawing or written a note for a friend or family member? How did it make you feel to give it to them?
  1. Mail Art Creation: Encourage the children to create their own mail art just like Annie’s friends did. Provide them with paper, crayons, markers, and stickers. Ask them to draw a picture or write a short note to a friend or family member. Once they finish, have them share their creations with the class and explain why they chose their particular design or message.

  2. Story Time with Props: Using Deacon’s book “Two Forks Eating” as inspiration, have the children create their own short story using props. Provide them with plastic forks and a variety of toy foods or pictures of foods. Ask them to come up with a simple story about what the forks are eating and where they might be. Let them present their story to the class, encouraging creativity and storytelling skills.

  3. Observation and Sharing: Ask the children to observe the mail they receive at home for a week. They can look at the different types of mail, such as letters, postcards, or packages. Encourage them to bring in a piece of mail they received (with permission) or draw a picture of it. In class, have a sharing session where each child talks about what they observed and why it was special to them.
