Hello, reading friends! Today, we’re going to read a fun story about the Easter Bunny and his helper. Did you know the Easter Bunny has an assistant? Let’s find out who it is in the book The Easter Bunny’s Assistant by Jan Thomas. If you have the book, you can read along with me!
In our story, the Easter Bunny is getting ready to make beautiful Easter eggs. He has a helper named Skunk. Skunk is very excited to help, but sometimes things get a little smelly when he gets too excited!
The first thing they do is hard-boil the eggs. Skunk is so excited to help!
Next, they make colorful dye for the eggs. Skunk loves the pretty colors and gets even more excited!
Now it’s time to decorate the eggs with crayons. Skunk thinks this is so much fun!
Uh-oh! Skunk gets too excited, and the room starts to smell. The Easter Bunny has to ask Skunk to step outside for a bit.
Finally, the Easter Bunny dyes the eggs, and they turn out beautiful!
Even though Skunk got a little too excited, his heart was in the right place. The Easter Bunny found a way for Skunk to help in the end. They worked together to make the best Easter eggs ever!
I hope you enjoyed our story today. Happy Easter, and see you next time!
Color Mixing Experiment: Let’s explore how colors mix to create new colors, just like the Easter Bunny and Skunk did with the egg dyes. Gather some water, food coloring, and clear cups. Try mixing different colors together and see what new colors you can create. Can you make a color that looks like the sky or the grass? Talk about what happens when you mix two colors together. What new color do you see?
Egg Decorating Fun: Use crayons and paper to draw your own Easter egg designs. Think about the patterns and colors you want to use. Once you’re done, share your designs with a friend or family member. Ask them what they like about your design and if they have any ideas for new patterns you could try. How does it feel to share your artwork with others?
Helping Hands Activity: Just like the Easter Bunny and Skunk worked together, think about a time when you helped someone or when someone helped you. Draw a picture of that moment. Share your drawing with the class and explain how it felt to help or be helped. Why is it important to work together and help each other?
